The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I just posted a recent blog entry of mine called "Single in the Suburbs." It's about this theory I have that living in the suburbs breeds a monogamous attitude and rush towards marriage in comparison to the city where people seem to be single longer. What do you think? What is it about the city that makes us want to settle down later? Are there too many prospects to consider? Are the suburbs more conducive to a coupling environment? Feel free to read my entry on here or thisisdating.blogspot.com too :)

I think it has to do with people’s career, not to say that people who live in the suburbs are not career orientated but I do believe people who live in the city put their career over marriage.

I haven’t and will never live in the suburbs, I am strictly a city guy, I like to hop on the train and get to someplace nice. And stay out late at nights.

When you live in the suburbs you have a limited amount of people to choose from, while when compared to the city if you mess up your girl/guy can find someone in a few seconds. So when you have this happening people who live in the suburbs stick it out, while city folks just don’t take that shit they move on.

So I think it’s a combination of career and availability of prospects
Interesting topic! Most my friends who grew up in the 'burbs, especially small towns, are long time relationship type girls regardless of where they live as a adults. Those of us from bigger cities are more open to being single and less likely to commit. I definitely think its influenced by the city/suburbs - as those girls from smaller towns in the suburbs think all there is to do is going out to eat with their boyfriends/husbands or hanging in with them. But that's pretty much all there is to do in their towns anyways.

I'm not knocking the suburb lifestyle, but there is definitely a difference in the way we date.
