The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I just wonder so many times how people come up with the names for their blogs. Please share your story of thinking of your blog's name.

I was beginning to have deja vu and couldn't figure out why... like, "Didn't we already go over this?" But it was because of your post. So I guess we didn't totally go over this here, but my confusion is remedied. Phew.
When I started my blog I was in the middle of a grueling final semester of University taking a couple of really intensive writing classes. It was originally to be titled "The Violent Summer" but for some reason it sounded too harsh for my personality. After spending way too many nights coming up short on assignments, it hit me. That's how "One Page Behind" was born.
It's so weird that I just stumbled upon this comment from you at the exact same moment that I stumbled across your blog via Facebook. Weeeeeeird.
well I was going between 3 blogs and decided to make things easier for myself so I deleted them and started over. I didn't want to use my name because in the past I'd get comments about the musician (obviously I'm not that Stacy Earl...isn't she a he, or he a she, or dead, or really old or something?) so this time I used sassyladyblog because I hear 'you're quite sassy, aren't you?' a lot and my momma calls me Lady.

For the title I asked a couple of my friends to agree on 3 words that describe me they came up with Classy, not trashy.
So there you have it.
When I first started out, my blog was intended to be about the things I absolutely loved and couldn't get enough of (it's branched out a bit since then). People always tell me that they know when I LOVE something because I get so excited and passionate about it. I wear my emotions for the world to see...good thing I'm usually in a great mood. So I wanted my blog name to play off my enthusiasm. I toyed with the idea of using "zest" or "zeal" (my favorite words), but when I came upon "relish" in my good old thesaurus, I knew it was perfect.
Blog Name: Snailbird.com.

Snailbird is absurd, like me, but it does have a reason behind it. I've always been slow at everything I do - both physically, and some may argue, mentally. The cleverest insult kids could come up with was "Snail" and it stuck. In fact, after a long while, I kind of took the name back and started using it for myself because I realize that I am a snail - but more in a sense that I take my time, I don't rush, I'm laid back. It works.

Bird comes from Blackbird, a name I've used online for almost eight years now. It comes from my livejournal name: blackbird_xiii which in turn comes from one of my favorite poems "Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird" by Wallace Stevens. So I put the two names together: Snailbird.

It's me.
Mine just came from the song 3 Libras which I was listening to heaps at the time I named it, and the line described how I felt.
Blog name: "You forgot your brain"

I honestly have no idea what the details were of how I came up with it, but I remember that my frame of mind when I created it was a place where people could go and get sidetracked from their daily bullsh*t. In other words, a place where no thoughts or brain usage were required to enjoy. . Quite ambitious to think I could actually achieve that sort of place, and the majority of my posts show just how little I use my brain since they suck ass. I made the blog in about .4 seconds thinking it would be a fad for me and now I am too wrapped up in continuation and tradition to change it. So.....to wrap this all up; I'm an idiot who lives in some sort of delusional and philosophical toilet bowl of self reflection....welcome! Bring some Febreeze if you visit, cause it stinks in here.
simply the best, lucky loser!

CAME FROM ONE OF MY BROTHERS GIRLFRIENDS.

She came to me and said I was the best and I responded, "-noooo I am a loser". Then she said, "FINE! your Simply the best, Lucky Loser!"

So there you go...it stuck ever since and believe I do believe that I am Simply the best, Lucky loser!

=)
I started under the blog title Informed but Unimportant Musings. I wanted to enter the blogosphere establishing that yes, I DO have an excellent education, I’m a good student, I keep up with current events, I AM INFORMED, but I’m not going to write about that stuff. Buuuut then I realized “Musings” is kind of overused in the blogosphere so I needed something new. Angelaboration sent me a list of wordplays on my name, one being Reneeborhood. As a big Mr. Rogers fan, I created A Beautiful Day in the Reneeborhood. Every day is beautiful here. :-)
Who Invented Roses is my favorite line from my favorite song. It refers to compass roses and since I have no idea what direction my life is headed, I thought it was appropriate.
I was watching Mean Girls and Lindsay Lohan was talking about word vomit, and I was like heeeeeeeyyyyyyy that's pretty much what I do all the time. Thus W0rdVomit.com was born lol.
