The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Hey everyone! I have the privilege and opportunity to be a participant in the very first Blogging Idol hosted over at Daily Blog Tips. Basically it's a contest to see who can increase their subscribers the most over the period of one month. As of July 1st I had 23 subscribers. I'd like to have a LOT more than this by the end of July. I need your help!

Please check out my blog: Debit versus Credit. If you like what you see (or heck even if you don't) then please subscribe to my feed. You can subscribe either by a traditional feed reader or by e-mail.

Thank you so much for your support and here's hoping that I can make a big impact on the very first Blogging Idol!

Sounds like a lot of work. Good Luck.
Wow. Thanks... at the rate I'm going I sure need it. :(
you can write a guest post for GenPink on Thursday of this week if you want. That should get you some more traffic and hopefully subscribers.
This is awesome, I'm always trying to get more readers so I'm interested to see what tips you all come up with. Good luck!!!
Elysa,

Thanks for the offer to guest post for GenPink. I sent you a message about that!

Tara,

I have yet to come up with any ingenious ideas. I'm trying to post every day (with the exception of the weekends) this month to see how that helps. It's not an innovative idea, but it's something I've yet to be able to accomplish. Keep in touch and I'll let you know how things work out!
Joseph,

Definitely take Elysa up on her offer. One of the best ways I have increased my subscriber count in the past was to guest post, and before you know it I was posting on high-traffic blogs. Anytime you're increasing your breadth online and you become more visible you'll enable yourself to obtain more subscribers.

Another tactic that I like is if someone leaves a comment on my blog that I can tell is relatively new to the blog. I might take the time to shoot them an email and thank them for their contribution and then at the end mention that if they haven't subscribed, and they would like to continue receiving updates and information from my site, they're welcome to.

It's easy to 'online cold call' if you will to get linkedIn and Twitter friends, but much harder to just ask people to subscribe. I'm not subscribed to all that much (only 13 sites in all). Anytime I subscribe I'm making a commitment to consistently read that person's contact because it provides value to my life, my job, or knowledge that enhances my blog. In that respect, just do your best to provide solid content consistently.

Best of luck in your quest to get more subscribers, and don't do too well too quickly ... it seems a couple of those people that have ascended rather quickly have exceeded their bandwidth limits!

Take care.

Ryan,

I actually just recently started e-mailing new commentators. That's a great idea. I think it really helps people to feel welcome and give them incentive to keep coming back. Unfortunately I don't get a lot of comments at this point so it's not often that I have the opportunity to send these e-mails out. Good point though. Thanks!
how do u know how many people are subscribed to your blog?
use feedburner and they'll tell ya.
