To be honest, the easiest way to get people to come to your blog is to comment on theirs. Some people won't come back over and return the favor, but most will.

That is so true! I've started commenting on some of the blogs I really liked and a couple of them came by and comment back. It really works.

hey, i lurk you, ya know! ;)

but also, consider creating a good little echo chamber on usability sites, eg. Twitter, Friendfeed, Technorati, etc.

Also, pump the fact that you drop jams on like, every post. That's one awesome thing I always come back for.

thanks for the advice everyone! i do most of those things i've just been so busy with work that i haven't been able to keep it up and that was evident in my decreasing readers ;)
