20 Something Bloggers

The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Hi ladies,

I was interviewed by a Washington Post reporter about how to increase traffic to your blog. I mentioned joining sites like this one to meet new bloggers and increase exposure to your own blog. Well, he included the URL to Twenty Something Bloggers in his article! So, we might see an increase in traffic and newbies around here?

Here is the link to the story: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/11/01/AR2...

That's so cool!
Ha! That's terrific! Welcome newbies!
Thats how i got here. Nice place, hope it gets bigger though
Yup, that's how I got here. I was stunned to see a site geared towards 20-something bloggers.
wow. congratulations on the interview, and way to pump this site. i do hope only non-self-promotional types show up, but hey...it's a great community at this point.

down the road there may need to be some coordinated monitoring around here...i think it'll start to overwhelm Lisa and company. i definitely volunteer to help out if need be.
G'day all - I'm new, via the WaPo article here.

Thanks for the pointer loveisblonde - looks like a cool group :)
Yeah, I've been worried about self promoters for a while. Ever since we got some girl who's blog was like, a car site or something.
I was sort of thinking that instead of policing and having rules for joining or something, we just build up the community by having events. And then you can find the other people who are "serious" into the site because they'll also be participating in the events.
The thing is, I have NO idea for events. I was trying to co-ordinate some guest blogging cross overs, but I didn't handle that well. What if I ask everybody who is interested to email me, and I'll match them up? Like a matchmaker?
Or if for a certain day we have a set topic, and EVERYBODY blogged on that topic. I don't know... maybs that's dumb. Let me know if you have ideas, everybody!
Lisa, that's not a dumb idea at all!!!

Last month there was the first ever Blog Action Day where bloggers all over participated in blogging on just one chosen topic (it was environment for this year), one day of the year. It was a HUGE success and really got the word out. We should have it on the anniversary of when this 20somethings' ning was created, haha.

Deciding on a topic would make for great discussion/debate, for sure.

(oh, and if it seems to be accepted by everyone here, we could even make it one of the "requirements" for being a part of 20somethings or for differentiating between blog-blogs and "car-blogs," you know? Just a thought...)
Okay, now Lisa's last post makes more sense. A car site? Hehehe.

I think having events would be fun, but I'll never make it to one. Geographically impossible. I'd be jealous, but it'd still be great fun. I'll live vicariously through your blogs.
Yeah, it'd be difficult to host just ONE event in ONE place. However, I think that it'd be way cool to have mini-regional events. It's good promo, too, and would most def. attract quality blog(gers).
I read WAPO daily but it's not how I arrived here. I found this place while reading an article on Blogher.
