The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I recently had a discussion with a friend who was starting a blog about Real Life Friends and how they don't read my blog. I told her that while many of my friends know about my blog, they admittedly don't read it. They themselves are not bloggers and they just don't quite get the whole concept of blogging or why I would consider people I have never meet to be my "friends."

Does it hurt my feelings? Sometimes.

Do I understand? Not always.

Is this just me? How do you handle it when your RLF's don't "get" your blogging?

none of my friends know and it feels weird to keep this part of life from them but i know that just wouldn't get it.

for some reason it is sometimes easier to talk to my "stranger-friends" than it is to talk to them.
I totally agree. It is easier to say things to people who have no idea who you are rather than the people you face in your day to day. I think all of our checks and balances tend to go out the window when we know we don't have to think about who is reading and what they will think.

My blog is read by so many people in my real life now that I started an anonymous blog just to get out the things that my real life readers wouldn't or couldn't understand. I think having that outlet is always a good thing if you have many people who read that know you.
I always find it kind of weird when people I know in real life read my blog... I'm a little more personal there than in real life, I think...

It's especially weird, however, when I find out that acquaintances are reading it... I still see them at work, but they don't let on. I'd rather just know they do, personally.
I KNOW! I have people who I know read, but they might say something that I know they only could know by reading my blog. It is weird they get all embarrassed sometimes when they realize. It's cool though.
It's weird... any of my RLF friends that read rarely comment. I ran into an old friend who apparently has been following me on my blog. And it was awesome, she knew so much about my life!

Lots of RLFs who have boring jobs seem to follow me. Heh. But yeah, most of them don't get it at all. Or if I mention a blogofriend, they're like "how are you FRIENDS with internet people?"
I just found a random old friend who has been reading my blog. It honestly made me stop to think, "wow, I really have no idea who is reading this", but it is cool. It amazes me that people are so interested sometimes. I think I can be kind of boring!
Hardly anyone I know understands my need to blog, especially not my family who keep telling me I reveal too much about my life. (They don't read it, it's just because I got into trouble with it before they don't understand why I'm continuing). But I don't really care, or TRY not to let it bother me. After all, I know there are TONS of us out there who like to blog as much as I do, so I can't be a COMPLETE weirdo . . . I hope!!! :)
If you are a weirdo, you are in really great company! We can all be weirdos together!
sounds good to me!! :)
I mention that I blog, but don't give anyone the address, and noone seems to want it either! I blog anonymously, and I think it's for the best. I've blogged in the past semi-anonymously (anyone with half a brain and a bit of nous on google could've found it) and felt myself closing off. I didn't reveal much of myself on those blogs for fear of others reading it. We all have our secrets.
only about 2 or 3 of my real friends read it. it didn't really make it for my friends though - so im not offended. they get to hear my thoughts in person. lol. this is for people that want a juicy distraction from their own lives...!
My real life friends either don't know about it, just don't care, or occasionally glance at it. It's kind of funny that my "blog friends," so to say, sometimes know more personal things about me than my friends.
