20 Something Bloggers

The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I'm curious how all the 20SBs manage their personal identities online.

I have a personal website, complete with its own domain name. I blog under my real name, and use my real name when commenting around the blogosphere. And I'm on LinkedIn.

What do you folks do to manage your online identities?

I have an anonymous identity that I blog under, and then a real identity.

Anonymous:
- Blog site (domain)
- 20SB
- Twitter

Real:
- Facebook
- LinkedIn
- Portfolio site (domain) + food blog

I also have about half a dozen email addresses belonging to either identity, so it does get quite confusing sometime, but I prefer the divide. I would never be able to blog as openly without the anonymity.
I've always blogged under my nickname. For a while I had a blog--complete with a domain name--under my real full name. I only blogged about subjects I wouldn't mind family and possible employers to see but that got boring fast. I still have my real name around the internet but I only use it for strictly professional and private purposes. I'm back to blogging the way I always have since 2002 though. :)
I blog, twitter and comment under Jill Pilgrim (which is obviously not my real name).

I do some freelance writing under my real name for a few different sites, trade publications, etc.

I keep my two online identities totally separate for professional reasons.
I make everything about myself and my identity pretty public, because I really just don't give a damn. Feel free to stalk me, threaten my life, or attempt to steal my identity. I'd be flattered!
