The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I just started my blog and am still learning the ins and outs of promotion! Any tips?

I have found that showing interest in other people and their blogs gives them an interest in you and your blog. So I usually just sort through a bunch of blogs, find some I like, and follow them/comment on their posts. Sometimes you hear back from them and they'll comment/follow back, sometimes not. Other than that, I really don't promote my blog because I'm too shy to say "Read my blog!" Actually, I take that back-- I always introduce myself to new people and leave my link.
I dunno. If people follow my blog, I try to follow them. It's blog etiquette :P. But it also helps if you update it daily. And if your blog rocks.

Twitter is awesome for blog promoting, so is leaving sincere comments often. Also, guest posting is great once you work up some good relationships.
Guest posting is actually pretty great and HELL YES to the "sincere" comments. NOT to the ones that is like "Follow my blog because it's awesome!" lol
Or the ones that just state the obvious, the "lazy comments". Like for a recipe, "That looks good!". Which is fine every once in awhile, but if that's all you do (and I see certain unnamed bloggers put nearly the same comment on a few different blogs I follow) then you aren't making the effort to connect.
But if we're being real here, follow my blog, because it's awesome.

Hahaha. Touche, Hannah.
:) Ain't I a stinker?
Welcome Cristin!! Hope you have a nice time here :)
I have found that joining 20SB and building the relationships with people I meet here through frequent reading and commenting has brough the most growth to my blog. :-)
I came to respond saying I don't know how to promote my blog, but now I realize I was promoting without knowing it. I read TONS of blogs and I comment on them almost every day, so I guess that is promotion cuz they must be clicking on my comment to come check me out and comment back.
Everytime you create a new post, cross-promote it on Twitter and Facebook, you'll definitely get traffic that way.
On Twitter, expand the #of people you're following. I follow hundreds of bloggers :)
And of course, get in touch with the community as much as you can. Commenting on people's posts and following similar blogs is another good way to promote yourself. Good luck!
