nope, haven't invited people from real life to read my blog. the only "real life" person (though not technically real life anymore) that knows about it (and reads, unfortunately, or not..) is my ex. it was a blog i started before we broke up and he just feels like he needs insight to me i guess. :P not going to stop him.. he can do whatever he wants.
Nobody I know in person (that I know of) reads my blog and I hope to keep it that way--though sometimes it is tempting to say "you should go read what i wrote about you!" It helps keep my writing honest. I think I would die a little bit inside if any of my family, friends or guys I have dated found my blog...
I know my mom reads my blog, which is fine with me, she knows me on the same level that my friends and my blog readers know me on, my roommate is a blogger, as well, and we read each other even though I'd just have to yell across the hallway to find out what's up.
None of my IRL friends read it, I don't think. I've never really pushed them since a good bit of them are wary on the whole Internet thing. I'm not one to totally hate on someone in my blog, just because back in the days of LiveJournal, I wrote about a relationship that wasn't one at all and the guy's girlfriend and her friends totally spammed my comments. I'm not exactly paranoid, I just don't have that kind of drama anymore, you know?
I don't really try to hide my blog from family, but I don't usually give out the URL either. I'm careful with what I say in public posts because I know my youngest sister reads, and I'm sure some of my family knows about the blog. Whether they care enough to read it is another story - haha. A couple IRL friends read it, but they're long-distance friends and I never have anything bad to say about them anyway.
it's really important to me that my blog stays anonymous. if it's not, then i know i won't be as honest, plus i've found that it causes a bit of a problem with dating. i could explain, but of course i've already written about it here: http://butfridayiminlove.blogspot.com/2009/02/what-im-not-telling-y...
maybe at some point you have to tell, though. and i guess that could be worse.
Only one of my friends knows about my blog. The one who got me back into the world of blogging.
I like to stay anonymous. It makes me feel like I have more freedom in what I can and can't say. I don't have to worry what X or Y might think about my post, I can just say what I want how I want to and enjoy the experience, rather than stressing about it.
I'm a bit hesitant about inviting people I know, because the topic of my blog is relationships. My relationships. And if I were one of my ex-boyfriends, I would definitely be nonplussed about the whole thing. That's what makes it so good and juicy, though.
So I give out the URL to a few friends, but I don't post in on facebook or anywhere it could easily be found. I don't use my full name, or post pictures of myself. If someone accidentally finds it, it won't be the end of the world, but I definitely don't let it all hang out in the open.
Friends and family all read the first blog I started. However, just this week I created a completely anon blog about my sexual escapades purely for fun and entertainment. There's a group of 5 of my friends that know it's me (but they already know all the stories anyway)...other than that, I'm hoping to keep it a secret to everyone in my everday life.
Everyone and their mom knows about my blog. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing yet. I wrote a piece about my roommate moving out last week and was kinda worried it would hurt her feelings. I told her about it first and it was all good. But I still don't know if I'll regret letting everyone know about my blog. Only time will tell.
I don't believe any of my friends and family read my blog.
Really the only friends that read my blog are internet friends, or friends I've known from the internet for 6+ years. We have a different type of friendship than my friends in real life.
If my family ever came across it, I don't care all that much -- as long as they don't tell everyone about it. I think my mom may have stumbled across it, and I don't mind much as I tell her a lot of personal things anyway.
I shared it with a few very close friends, but not family haha. For the most part my LJ is for my friends, but for blogging I use blogspot and probably only 2 of my friends know about it.
