The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I have been having trouble sleeping the past (not so) few weeks.
It just gets to a certain time at night where I lose my sleep and can't go back to sleep until the early hours of the morning.
I wake up tired and don't look forward to going to work coz I'll be tired the whole day

Anyone know how I can beat this?
(I have already tried counting sheep(lol!), I just need new ideas .)

i personally enjoy a hot cup of tea before bed, but i usually end up waking up anyways to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. There are a lot of herbal-type remedies you can try (just go to a drug store or search on Web MD first or something. I've had sleep trouble for years and finally saw a doctor about it. Often times there are other problems underlying sleep issues. I personally have a prescription for Ambien, but there are other things you can try. Good luck! Let me know if you find a remedy!! :)
Well if you're Michael Jackson; about thirty to forty Xanax a night. But I'd recommend maybe 1 with a beer would knock you right out.
LOL!
Yeah, that should work seeing as I would want to get up the next morning and go to work!
I would recommend Chamomile Tea. Back before pills became popular, this was usually a way to calm the body and get rid of tension. Have the tea 45 minutes before you go to sleep. The other solution is to write down how your day has been going, and any issues that might have been bugging you. Insomnia is usually a case from the subconscious mind.
Chamomile tea sounds good. I think I'll try that out.
I too have insomnia so I feel your pain, Mimi. But going off of Vincent's idea above...

A great way to help clear your mind from the day is to start a Gratitude Journal. (http://diamondkt.blogspot.com/2009/08/gratitude-journal.html) All you do is take 5 minutes before you go to bed to write down 5 things that you are grateful for that given day.

My biggest problem is that my head races the second it hits the pillow, so this has helped me some. Worth a try!

I might try the Camomile Tea trick too, but I always thought that ALL tea has caffeine? And as you know caffeine keeps you up!
I hate it when that happens, when I got to bed and my thoughts are going a thousand a second and all I do is toss and turn. But that's a great idea David, the gratitude journal is good regardless of the situation we're all in.

As for the tea...herbal teas don't have caffeine. But the following do, black tea, earl grey, green and white teas do. You can thank Starbucks for the education.
Herbal teas don't have caffeine. That I didn't know.

Hmm, I learn something new everyday - thanks. :)
I also didn't know that!
I second that Chamomile Tea. It works. I will drink it if I should sleep but can't.

Quick story, when my brother was a baby he was kind of ancy, I think they call it colicky, my mother read somewhere to give the baby chamomile tea so she did. Within 5 minute he was dead out asleep, so she thought she killed him, so in a panic she started shaking an d screaming at him to wake him up. She never gave it to him again but started drinking it herself.
Nyquil saved my life in college
I noticed that writing or reading for long stretches of time makes me sleepy.
