The Bloggers With The Most To Say

This is just a quick question, but I have noticed a definite difference in how hard it is to get traffic and subscribers.....anyone else experienceing the same?

I did some freelance work for a marketing blogger awhile back and it seems like that market is just getting really saturated. There are so many marketing blogs out there that it's probably a lot harder than it used to be to stand out from the pack.

You may be hitting a new plateau, but I'm guessing you've hit plateaus before and managed to climb over them. Plateaus aren't insurmountable, but it's like working out-- you have to do something more than you're already doing to get over the hump!

It seems like the successful marketing bloggers (in general) are the ones who've (a) carved out a niche for themselves and (b) consistently provide valuable content and not just a regurgitation of what readers can find elsewhere. I just took a quick peek at your blog and it looks really great, so maybe you just need to fine tune your niche and reach out more to those readers. Maybe you could ask your subscribers for feedback on what's adding value for them and what isn't.

Good luck!
Thanks for the kind words, I like your blog as well.

Yeah, you are right about the oversaturation of the marketing blogs, although I feel like it has to do with blogging in general and people being less into it. I have a guest post going up on a blog with thousands of subscribers this week , so that should help me I hope.

Thanks again!
I've actually found my blog is doing MUCH better in the last month or so than ever before! My hits have more than doubled and I'm getting an average of 5-10 new subscribers every day. I have to say I'm pretty happy about that, although I can't really share any tips or tricks with you because basically I haven't done anything different. So it's a little bit of a mystery to me.

I think content is king. If you write, they will come? (semi-stolen line from "Field Of Dreams")

So hang in there, man. Keep writing. Keep posting on the 20SB forum and keep leaving comments on other people's blogs. I guess just keep staying involved and hopefully things will pick up for you.
thanks David, glad to hear that you are doing so well....you give me some faith! ha although i'm not that worried its just a little frustrating, but you're right I should get out there more! I actually have a guest post going up on Ittybiz.com (a blog with several thousand subscribers) sometime in the next week so we'll see how that goes.

All the best!
that's awesome! best of luck w/ the guest spot... surely that will help you out :)
I'm with David on this too, I seem to have had a huge jump in subscribers and hits in the past month or so. I'm not sure entirely why though . . .
I've had busy months and then slow months in regards to subscribers and comments. I think it just depends on whats going on around you and in the blogoverse, and what youre writing about. Summer was definitely slower, but its been picking up more this fall/winter. And definitely get your name out there, whether its through 20sb, other networks, or just commenting on blogs.
Yeah I guess during the summer people have better things to do than stay in and read/write blogs. Winter is far more perfect for blogging . . . :)
On this note, can we all just agree that November is a bit of a shitty month for blog-motivation? I blame all of you NaBlahMoPoSomethingsomething bloggers for the oh-so contagious what-the-hell-am-I-going-to-write-about-today feeling.
This is why I DIDN'T sign up for the nanowhatsitcalled thing - i post pretty much every day as it is because i WANT to, not cos I feel like i HAVE to. I signed up for the other one (the nanowrimo one) and gave up within two days. I hate feeling FORCED to do something . . .
