The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Lets be honest here.

When you start dating or you meet people in a social situation do you ask what they do for a living because you are genuinely interested or because you would scrap dating someone who was a milk stacker at a supermarket for instance?

Or do you find a certain industry or job more attractive than others?

Ladies, does dating a fireman appeal a lot to you, or a doctor?

Guys, do promotion models or sexy librarians do it for you?

Would you stop dating someone if they did something for a job that you deem socially or morally wrong? Like people who experiment on animals or deal drugs?

Just interested really. I think that when people find out what you do for a living whether it be a full time student or a lawyer peoples opinion of you changes.

I used to have a thing for musicians, and married a drummer. But they are fucking impractical, keep odd hours and are stalked by groupies. So now I have a thing for boring men who can change the oil filter in my car. Grrr....

yes, yes, yes, yes, yes
okay this may seem silly but I am really really turned off by barbers, I am a student in a slon/barber school and all I know is that I can't date a barber, they are almost always douchbags.

What kinda asshole watches a 5'4'' tall hairstylist carrying a massage table and doesn't offer to help? Thats just un-gentlemanly
I am really turned off by chefs they are all egomaniac arseholes, well in my experience. I think working within an industry can certainly taint it!
I live with two 'chefs' they are assholes, and I dated one... he was an asshole too, so yeah I agree lol
Oh my gosh, yes. If one of the first things I learn about someone are that they are a writer, artist, photographer, musician? Sign me up for the second date, that's all I need to know. I don't think I could ever see myself with someone who was a firefighter, police officer, and the like.. I just don't think I could be the spouse of someone with that lifestyle. I think it's fine to be attractive to jobs because that means you are attractive to someone who pursued the career that interests you, meaning you have similar interests and a lot in common.
I am completely the opposite, I have had enough of flakey artists, I have had enough of them :) but that is just my experience.

Police officer....yeah I kinda agree but Firefigther, I know a few guys who are Firemen and that is a HOT job.
I really don't know. I wouldn't want to date a musician (thanks ex) but yes, what someone does for a living matters.

That being said, when I first met T, he was about to leave to go off to the army.

Five years later, he's worked in the trades, been laid off short of starting a welding apprenticeship, and is now starting a warehousing job on a track to management.

I wouldn't say that ambition is a turnon for me - overly ambitious people turn me off, even - but I want a relationship where we both hold our own.
I would like a wife in a position of power, because power is sexy.
