Are you going to the 20SB Meetup?
If you're going, how far are you travelling to get there? I'd assume most people who plan on attending live fairly close by...?
And what do you guys do at these things? Is it quiet and awkward with crickets chirping in the background. Or does alcohol mask all that?

I live in Toronto... so it's going to be a flight probably unless I find some people who want to make a crazy roadtrip out of it. I think lots of people might make the effort to fly. It's going to be so exciting!
We've never actually had one but honestly... awkward and crickets don't seem possible.

Luckily the bolt bus runs to Boston from new york for something like ten bucks, so its a pretty easy deal

I'm going. Hopefully I'll still be in NYC at the time so I can just take the bus.
We (the meet-up committee) are planning events for the weekend. There is going to be a meet up on Friday night and various touristy activities throughout the weekend. We're trying to make a balance between those that involve alcohol and those that don't. Hopefully there will be something for everyone and very little time that involves chirping crickets. :)

i'm definitely going, from chicago, and i don't think i'll be the only chicagoan there. this will be the first Network-Wide get-together, which is why it's planned months in advance. we're hoping tons of you guys will come out.
having been to a handful of local get-togethers rooted in this 20SB network, the events are always fun. bloggers are fun, outspoken people, by measure, and yeah, if liquor's involved it's usually even a shade crazier. this event should have options for everyone: drinkers, non-drinkers, locals, out-of-towners, etc. also, i think this one will have some buzz just due to the influx of out-of-towners attending and thus on a bit of a vacation.
a suggesiton to blogger meetup newbies: hunt down some blog friends by dropping by the blogs of people you may meet...that way you have some people you're already looking forward to getting to know a bit better.

There will most definitely be another one. Like d said, we aim for every few weeks. I usually post information about them on my blog, twitter and the 20SB Chicago group.
