The Bloggers With The Most To Say

alright, so just in case you haven't heard, prince william and kate middleton are getting married. personally, (and i am canadian, which makes me a citizen of a british dominion), i could. not. care. less. i have noticed, however, that the american media seems to care a lot, and i dont understand why. didn't the americans do a whole lot of battling to get away from the royal family??? why this big interest in it now? and why do people find this wedding so inspiring and fascinating? i can barely bring myself to care about the weddings of people i know personally, let alone total strangers who are living the high life on my tax dollars. can someone please explain?

I watched it and loved every minute. I even had champagne. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, though that could have been the champagne talking.

I don't understand why I'm not allowed to be interested in it as an American just because "we" broke away from the monarchy over 200 years ago or because I'm American. We didn't want to be controlled by it; I can still watch the wedding and think her dress is pretty and be patriotic.

I also really like the tradition of it all. You don't really see that here.

What in the everloving hell is happening here?!
So glad to see someone else who is interested! Completely agree!

I watched it.  I loved every moment about it.  I started to write about it, but I went off on a tangent and never went back.

I totally care. I think its fascinating, and the fact that their can be a noww normal monarchy with no real power is great. I love it because they represent history, and in a country like Canada, where it is so young (I am from Canada as well) there isn't rich history other than the British related history.

I don't think it's such a BAD thing the way people are against. I guess I'm a dreamer, I just love watching two people getting hitched, especially in such a grand fantastic manner. It's like watching a real life fairytale movie. Their a unfeared monarchy and I think it was VERY interesting to see. What can I say, I'm a girl, I really wanted to see what designer that Kate would honor in her dress choice. haha

I do care ... a lot! I though it was such fun to watch all the specials, and then on the day of, there was just this sense of excitement and giddyness! I think part of the fun in things like this is really being around those who share that interest and are also excited! I went to a local British Pub that had like 600 people there for the event, half of them decked out in dresses and hats, full English breakfast, and every TV broadcasting the wedding. That is part of the fun ... sharing in it with like-minded people.

So yeah ... I care ... and I really don't care if other people don't care!

(Oh ... and as I say in my blog ... to each their own. I had so many colleagues at work telling me they "just wanted it to be over so everyone would stop talking about it." Well ... here is what I have to say to you - just remember that when you come up to me and want to talk about the Twins/Vikings/draft pick/fishing opener/hunting opener/superbowl/etc. Because guess what ... I just don't care about that!
