I know I might just end up getting hate messages for watching such an awesome movie so late, but I saw 'I am Sam' a couple of weeks ago and loved the movie. What about you?

We watched The Fourth Kind recently, with Milla Jovovich! Amazing! Totally underrated and wasn't promoted properly, but probably one of the best alien movies we've ever seen!

I haven't seen a truly great film in the theatre since "Big Fish." My sisters and I were all holding each other across the seats sobbing at the end. And we haven't done that since.
Which is kind of a good thing. People around us were appropriately skeeved.

I have to say Inglorious Basterds was amazing. I mean the plot was so good and funny. The acting was really amazing. Then there was the language thing- i love listening to other languages (especially German and french since i am trying to learn them). It goes down as one of my favorite movies of all time.

same here - out of the movies I saw last year, this was hands down the best!
The fact that a lot of it was subtitled with the actual languages was awesome too - I took french for a few years, my husband took german... we both really enjoyed that aspect of the film!

We just saw Hot Tub Time Machine this weekend - it was HILARIOUS if you don't mind current R-rated comedies.
I especially loved that for a good portion of the film, during the scenes in 1986, John Cusack is basically wearing the same outfit he wore as Lloyd Dobler in Say Anything.
And this is the first movie I can recall where Rob Corrdry didn't annoy me (I couldn't stand his character in Harold and Kumar 2) - he plays "the jerk friend" of their trio but he plays it really well and funny!

one of my friends that saw it before I did also told me (after the fact) that at one point at the end when they're traveling via the Hot Tub, one of the guys yells out "I want my 2 dollars!!!" referencing Better Off Dead too.
I went into it not expecting much, cuz there's been a lot of stupid R-rated comedies and I can see how this sounds like one, but the cast was actually pretty good and it didn't surprise me to see that Cusack was one of the producers too - rarely is he in a bad film!
Kinda surprised Joan didn't make a cameo in it - she usually at least makes a tiny cameo in John's film if she's not playing a supporting character...

It's not a new release, but I watched Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist a couple weeks ago and LOVED it. It might be one of my top favorite movies. Once it ended I almost hit play again.
