Ok so it wasn't THAT recent, but last year I rented "The CIty of Lost Children." HOLY CRAP it blew my mind all over my face. I mean yes its weird, and bizarre, and crazy, but it is just so fully fleshed out and realized as an amazing piece of art and film and creativity I was just astounded. Amazing. Simply Amazing.

AMAZING!
Last week I saw "How to Train Your Dragon" in IMAX 3-D, and I've gotta say, it was pretty darn amazing! I'd been wanting to see it since the first preview and I was definitely not disappointed! Check out my review if you'd like at the link below:

I definitely recommend it for a good smile :)
The Blind Side
I would say mine's a tie between an older movie and a new release.

The new release would be The Blind Side. That movie was sooo incredibly touching. The second is Fireproof. That movie truly revolutionized my life.
Fireproof was good! My family and a few friends kept recommending we watch it, so we did after hubby's little incident last spring - the acting was a bit corny, but we expected it going in so it didn't really both us. It was a really good story though about giving your marriage a second chance! =)
Mmhmm. And the acting, well, you gotta cut it some slack when it's a local church playing all the parts (the majority of those in it were from Kirk Cameron's local church).

But here's another interesting tidbit. Kirk is SO avid about living what he says his morals are, that he won't even kiss another actress for a scene. Which is why, in that final scene, when they finally embrace and kiss, you NEVER actually see chicky's face -- it's because they replaced the actress with his wife for that scene.
Just saw Up in the Air and thought it was a great movie...certainly worthy of a best picture nomination.
