The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Yeah, I got one.
I love 20SB, but I hate how people will write on your wall and say,

"love your blog, check out mine at ...."

Um. No. You don't love my blog. You love YOUR blog and are trying to get me to click
your link.

If I tell you I like your blog, that's because I actually read it. I'm not on some desperate quest to get as many followers as possible.

What's yours?

I agree with you. I know for a fact that someone who left a similar comment like that did not actually check out my blog, but oh well. lol I normally only check out people's blogs who I see in the forums. I also look at people when they leave comments on my actual blog. Everyone wants to pimp their blog out, some people just do it more annoyingly! lol
Totally agree. I will look at yours, if you leave me a comment. But I"m not gonna lie to you just so you come on over to my blog. :)
I agree. Don't say "I'm loving your blog" if you haven't even opened my link.

I send out welcome messages, but I don't say I've read your blog unless I've actually read it. I don't expect every person to follow me, I want them to follow me because they relate to me, like what I have to say, or appreciate my content. If I say I've read your blog, I've read it.

I read a lot of blogs, and always try to comment, but I would never expect someone to come back to my blog out of comment courtesy. I want readers that read my blog because they actually like it, not because I whored out and said "nice post".

My big blogging annoyances are horrible background colours that hurt my eyes, or a lengthy scroll down to get to the first post. Sometimes I feel like I've scrolled to the bottom before you hit the last post. Yes I realize I could read through google reader (or other feeds), but I think the design says a lot about the reader too.
Hehe, I agree, there are a lot of blog whores here. Sometimes it's a more elaborate msg than ""love your blog, check out mine at ...."" and it might take a while to figure it out until you see that they leave the same type of msgs elsewhere. Think of it this way it's insincere so really they aren't going to get too many more ACTUAL followers by such tactics. Though I may click on a blog out of curiosity from such msgs I probably won't come back after the first visit unless it's something I found really engaging.
Same here. I usually leave a comment, because I just like to let people know who all is reading their stuff. But I won't return or follow it unless i REALLY want to. I hope my followers are following me because they LIKE my blog, not because they want me to reciprocate.
It's = It is

You're = You are

They're = They are

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Look, sometimes things slip through the cracks - it's also difficult to edit oneself - but let's at least try to learn contractions. I'm not going to stop reading a blog because of it, but it doesn't help. Okay I might.
The you're vs. your things bugs me to no end. I see that mistake rampant on FB.
This bugs me too! I'm not the best at being grammatically correct, but I always try and put effort into it.
I love to EDIT.
It's what I want to do with my life post-graduation.
Grammar is great, but I have found mistakes in my blog before that made me blush at how retarded I was not to re-read my own words. Ha ha.
I've re-read some of my post and had to edit them. Some of them were just awful! How will anyone take me serious when every 15thhsa a grammar mistake. I'm currently trying to improve my writing skills by searching online for errors I've made. I've always been more of a math and science person, but it never hurts to improve something about yourself.
I to am prone to editing sone of my older posts, but try to limit it. Wanting to improve your writing skill is obviously a good thing, and I find my older posts a good way to measure how (if) I have improved. Some of my previous posts may be of a lower standard than I would like, but any readers will hopefully see the improvement in later entries.
I try not to edit my posts at all. Not because I'm lazy or illiterate, but mainly because I'd end up changing the entire post, and not just the errors.
