The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I have it in my head that my birthday should be wonderful. Somehow it never lives up to my expectations. This year, I haven't even really mentioned it to anyone other than my fiance, in the hope that if I don't have any expectations, I can't be let down.

I think what I would really like is a skating/bowling party at a place outside Bardstown, and I would like all of the people I want to come to actually be there.

Anyone else always disappointed by birthdays? What do you do to make your own birthday feel special?

I always am!!!!! I haven't had a good bday since I was 17 I think? This past one a few weeks ago was one of the best since then. I created a fbook event 2 weeks in advance and invited about 20 people. 3 could come, the 3 I invited because I invited other people and they're nice, just not my closest friends. So I ended up going to another bar with someone else and did have fun, at least I spent this one with people! So yes, I know what you are talking about!
I mean you have your fiancee, there's someone. And he will hopefully do something special (I obviously don't choose great guys either). Invite people to do whatever you want, but go either way with him and have a great time! Just concentrate on having fun!
My birthday was today and aside from having tests and a kind of craptastic day at work, I still enjoyed it. Considering the fact that I'm holding off on the celebration until this weekend when the work load is lighter, I'm not disappointed at all.

While I've had a bowling party and a skating one when I was really young, I've never had one where everyone I wanted to show up actually did.
Happy birthday!!
Thanks! : )
My 20th was pretty boring, I spent it in school, bored out of my ever loving mind.

My coming 21st (next month!) I'm determined to make it FABULOUS.
Well for most of my Bdays I am always in school or lately at work, the nature of my job its like I am not even allowed to take a day off, when your the only one in the office who do what you do.

Well I wish you all the best for this one.

Just get crazy and have allot of fun, you got a man and so it should be fun hopefully.
I dunno, I never make a big deal out of my birthday. My friends like to hang out though, so I end up going to something. I'm content staying at home and eating cake and ice cream by my onesies.

I'll totally try to be there, btw. If I can manage it, financially.
My birthday, luckily, is St. Patrick's Day. So for me there is always a party and everyone in the world is attending. It's pretty nice. I typically take a couple of days off of work for it.
Your birthday is on St. Patrick's Day? This automatically makes you the coolest person on the internet. I. Am. Jealous.
Usually I'll have dinner with friends or something, but never anything really special anymore, at least not for the past couple of years.

This year, my boyfriend's going to be in Paris with his family on my birthday (April), so I already know it's pretty much going to suck... trying not to think about it too much.

Birthdays just kind of seem to not mean much to people after you hit 21, even if they secretly mean something to you. :\
My birthday's coming up in a week or two, and I was kind of thinking about the same thing. Should I attempt to get people together and take the chance that no one will be able to make it work, or should I give it a shot anyway? All of my good friends live far far away, and and I don't really have many close friends here. I was actually thinking about going bowling instead of doing the typical Friday/Saturady night bar scene thing. Bowling just sounds fun.
Yes! This is my problem exactly. I don't have a ton of close friends, and every time I plan something it seems like no one comes. My fiance planned me a surprise party last year, but all of the guests were from his family, so it made me feel like none of my friends cared enough to come.
