The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I have to speak about this because it is so irritating to me and I need to know that I am not alone.

I can NOT stand blogs that advertise links. As in that pay per post/link/whatever crap. I'd rather see columns of Google ads or something. Really. I get so irritated when I see random diet pill/insurance/dumb links shoved into a blog post. Can't stand it.

You're making it really obvious that you're trying really hard to make this look purposeful and it becomes an ultimate failure. I understand you can make 10 bucks or something, but I just find it really shady. I'm not the world's greatest blogger and my posts are nothing to tell the news folks about, but three posts in a row, pretending you care about car insurance or network equipment or bathroom lighting? I just feel like it ruins the purpose of blogging.

Can someone assure me that this is a great thing? Or does anyone else agree? I feel like it's starting to become a big reason people start to blog: because they think they can make some money posting these silly links.

Of course, it's your blog and you can do whatever you want with it. I could just not read the blogs that annoy me. However, can anyone who uses these kinds of services maybe explain why you do it?

I don't read many blogs that do that. Unfortunately someone someone came up with this idea you could do nothing, write nothing worthwhile and make money while not really working so you see a lot of this on new blogs.

Everyone has a different purpose for blogging. It may ruin the purpose for you or for me, but it is obliviously the only purpose some of those blogs were conceived. Luckily there are thousands more blogs to choose from and we can just move along.
I don't mind the sidebar ads, that's all good. And I don't care what or who is linked in your sidebar. That's all fine & dandy. It's the pay per post stuff. Actually, the reason I freaked out is because someone literally did post 3 or 4 in a row and always does. Must be from different programs? I don't know. Once in awhile isn't so bad, honestly. If paid blog posts is the point of your blog, that's cool, too. Or if they are specific to a topic you post about a lot. It just irks me when someone will write a lengthy post about their newborn child and then, at the end, quick shove in a little blurb & link about bathroom lighting. It's obviously all a matter of opinion.
Someone mentioned doing AdSense on my blog, but I wasn't sure about it. Kat, it sounds like you've been successful with it and advertising on your blog, though. I'd be interested in hearing more about how it works, whether it's a viable income-generator (not looking to get rich here--but it wouldn't be worth it for a couple extra bucks a month), and whether it in any way takes away from the content or reputation of the blog. Maybe this should be a new discussion topic?
I agree with you. Just doin' what you can to make a buck. Shouldn't bother anyone.
I just recently tried doing all this pay per post/link/whatever crap you're saying..I just wanna know how can it be of great help to me like any other blogger out there. I find this a little helpul for single mothers like me.So I wanna give it try.:)
