The Bloggers With The Most To Say

How do you like to blog? Do you write it spur of the moment? Schedule posts days in advance? Start drafts, return to them days later, and post them just as soon as they're finished?

I've kept drafts for my wordpress blog before, but only just realized how much scheduling posts ahead of time helps me. I need deadlines - and setting a date and a time that the post will hit the web, finished or not, will get them done.

Of course, sometimes something topical will need to get written and posted on the fly, but having a couple of posts in reserve, thinking out my topics in advance, is really a great trick for maintaining regular posting. Wish I'd figured that out a year ago, and I hope I can keep it up!

I have a ton of posts in draft form. A lot of them are completed, but if I don't post them within a few weeks of writing them, then it's likely they will just sit there forever. They start to feel dated to me.

I don't have time to write daily, so I do most of my writing on the weekend and then I schedule posts for the week. I usually write a post (or several) all in one sitting. When I sit down to write it, I usually have an idea of what I want to say, because I've thought about it. I don't have the whole thing planned out, though. I usually write pretty quickly, but there is the occasional post that I have to keep going back to.
I write down a few things if they come to me, but most of the time I wake up, read the blogs I am following and then just kind of spur of the moment start a blog. Or in reverse order. I have been having a difficult time lately with just staring at a blank screen so this may have to change soon lol.
I often have ideas for a post in the middle of the night when I can't sleep. Sometimes I am scared that I forget everything, write down some notes and then write the whole post the next day.
Sometimes I have posts in draft form in my head for days and I write them down as soon as I have the time. But I don't schedule posts; as soon as it's finished, I publish it.
I have a list of blog topics I want to write about that I'm always adding to. I come to them whenever I don't have something to write about. And since I'm usually too busy to write during the week, I write most of my blog posts on the weekends and schedule them. I've been finding it fairly easy to find blog topics to write about, mainly because I do 2 features throughout the week and have 2 days a week where I'm talking on a special topic.

I used to make drafts but I don't do that anymore unless there are words I absolutely need to get out of my system. But when I do go to write, I always know what I'm going to write about and have been thinking on those topics for a while.
I try to schedule posts in advance. I'll also tend to start a post and not finish it so it'll get stored in my drafts until I find the time/inspiration to complete it.
I have never done a draft. I do have somewhat schedules, like five question fridays and meal planning mondays and getting to know you sundays that are part of a blog hop. I started my own room by room on wednesday. everything else is spur of the moment. I do have a list of ideas though. I also will post more than once a day at times.
I sit down and write whenever I have an idea or am inspired. I put it directly into my WP and save it as draft. Even if it's only half an idea, I write as much as I'm inspired to do, then come back to it later. Sometimes I sit and write 3 entries in the space of a couple hours. If that's the case, I then wait and save them to publish later (sometimes I schedule them, sometimes I wait for a day when I'm feeling UNinspired to pull something from drafts).
I do a little bit of everything.

If a post isnt really time sensitive and will still be relavant no matter when I post it I will hold on to it or set it as a schedule post for a day when I know I probably wont be posting.

But because I also see my blog as sort of a diary I do post spur of the moment some times when things are bothering me or exciting and such.

I do tend to map out blog posts in my head while I am doing things away from the computer and often have a draft box on my cellphone full of ideas or thoughts.
I rarely keep drafts. I've always kind of treated my blog like a diary. Most often, I write spur of the moment. I like it better that way.
I've been starting drafts and just revisiting them later. I have found myself losing interest in finishing them unfortunately :( I need to find some blog tips to get myself going!!
I'm definitely a spur of the moment poster. If I'm online and something pops into my head, I'll open blogger and start writing. Or, if I'm out somewhere and I see something, or think of something that I should write about, I jot it down in a notebook and come back to it later. I really don't try to get a post out every day or anything- I just write when I feel like it, or if I feel like I have something to talk about.
