The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I ended up getting a Tumblr page because one of my semi-active blogger friend uses it and told me she couldn't promise regular reading of my blog unless I got Tumblr (would this be like blog blackmail). So I got it, and I'm pretty happy with it. But I was just wondering what sites people chose and why?

I'm currently using Blogger. If you want to have your own template then it is best you go for Blogger. Else, it's Wordpress.
I'm the opposite. I don't follow Tumblrs haha

Personally, I think wordpress is the best blogging platform. I like that it's customizable both design wise and with plugins if you self host. The interface is clean as is the commenting system. Blogger gives me a headache. I HATE commenting on blogger blogs. It's just a big pain.
Haha, I'm with you Jamie. I really don't follow Tumblrs either.

I've used Blogger, Typepad, and Wordpress....and Wordpress is, by far, my favorite. Though, it would be nice if I knew some CSS.
Oh I totally agree... commenting on blogger blogs drives me crazy. There's one I refuse to comment on as a result.
I don't understand how commenting on Blogger blogs could be a pain? It's the same as commenting on a Wordpress blog or anywhere else on the web.

Blogger lets you pick from an OpenID - meaning you can sign in with your account on Google, LiveJournal, Wordpress, TypePad, or AIM. And if you don't want to do that, you can just post with your own Name/URL or Anonymous.

Seems pretty accommodating if you ask me.
if you comment on my blog (blogger) a new window opens up as the comment window. when its closed you have the page you were currently on.
agree with u, i think blogger is accomodating enough, nothing difficult commenting on blogger.
i hate commenting on blogspot blogs too. i do it, but i hate it.

i enjoy my selfhosted wordpress :)
My main blog is self-hosted with WordPress. That's my preference (I've also used Blogger and Wordpress.com). I have a tumblr page too, though, and I use that a bit differently. It's a cool way to take in pictures and quotes and other things I don't come across anywhere else. I very rarely write any original content for it, though. It just fills this gap for me between my blog and twitter.
I've tried xanga before, but it seemed like few people are on there anymore. My current blog is through blogger, which doesn't offer some of the same features I liked on xanga, but it works. :o) I haven't used wordpress, but I've liked the blogs I've read that use it.
I have used them all. I remember using a Live Journal, Open Diary, Xanga, Blurty & Melodramatic back in the day (I still have them too!).

I have used Blogger, Tumblr, Typepad, ExpressionEngine and I always end up full circle on Word Press.

I self-host now and am pretty happy. I can hold my own files, plug ins and customize how I like. I just can't for the life of me do my own designs anymore so I rely on the creative genius of others by buying premade templates. Love it.

I still have a blogger that I sign into, just so I can comment on other blogspots, but if someone were to visit it I just direct them to my site. Gotta love link jumping =)
lol i still have a livejournal and xanga.. haven't been used in years though.
