The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I ended up getting a Tumblr page because one of my semi-active blogger friend uses it and told me she couldn't promise regular reading of my blog unless I got Tumblr (would this be like blog blackmail). So I got it, and I'm pretty happy with it. But I was just wondering what sites people chose and why?

i had an opendiary for YEARS... and then a livejournal for YEARS. now that i'm on wordpress i sort of miss them incredible... especially friends filters! :)
I have used blogger and WordPress.com — still have a WordPress.com. I prefer self hosted WordPress which is my current main blog.

I have a tumblr, more for farting in the wind, but don't have tumblrs on my feedreader unless they are people whose blogs I already read.
I use Blogger and I have a Tumblr too although I don't really consider Tumblr "blogging" although I know most people do.
I'm on tumblr at teresawu.tumblr.com -- I've been on blogspot (got bored), tried wordpress for a couple of years -- it was great, but I missed the community aspect that I had way back in the day from Livejournal/Xanga/Vox etc. so onto Tumblr I went, where I'm very happy. :)
I personally use a wordpress.org blog. Which means I own a domain name and host it myself. But If I were to go the free route I would use either wordpress.com or livejournal.com . I had a blogger account before I got my blog up and running and was highly disappointed in their theme selection. I currently have a tumblr linked to my main page Writer On The Verge but found to have a tumblr site as a stand alone blog unhelpful due to the lack of commenting. But in the end id say it's what makes you happy.

I agree about the format. It almost makes me want to switch entirely...

I also love your Tumblr, as I have said.
I use blogger for longer posts. Tumblr for photos, short poems, reblogs, thoughts that aren't short enough for Twitter or long enough for Blogger.

Then I check into internet rehab...
I'm a big WordPress fan! If you like having full control of your site's design and look, then you can't be a self-hosted wordpress blog. It's easy enough to setup that even self-hosting beginners wouldn't have any trouble.
I use wordpress, but previously have tried blogger.
Good to see some tumblr love on here. I used blogspot for a while back in the day, but it was pretty featureless and the templates just look old. Like hosting a website on geocities.
Drupal for PHP and Radiant for RoR

I did mess around with WordPress for a month but the out of the box functionality was pretty weak.
