I would definitely say the layout and the content is what turns me on or off.
I loathe things that autoplay. Especially if I click out of the tab and then have to try to figure out where the crap the sound is coming from. Other than that, designs and templates have to be pretty horrible (making the blog unreadable) for me to dislike them, they're a reflection of the blogger so I like to see what they come up with.
Agreed. I hate autoplay. I usually just leave the blog immediately.
I also agree. It's annoying as hell.
Try reading blogs in a feed reader, like Google Reader. Then you don't get the autoplay or distractions from the layout and ads.
Second that.
DItto this absolutely! First of all, autoplay takes away my oh-so-precious bandwidth, second of all, just because you like a certain song, doesn't mean I will. 9/10 times I refuse to spend the time to find a way to stop the player and I just click off the page...
I agree with Madame O'Gilvie-- I do not like it when blogs insist on autoplaying loud, annoying music. This is mainly because my music tastes do not mesh with those of most twenty-somethings, but also because I love reading blogs at work, and I sit across the desk from my boss, and it's kind of difficult to pretend that you're doing spreadsheets and analyzing data when some horseshit from "Coldplay" is blaring out the speakers that you forgot were on.

Also, I don't like when blogs feature my home address and social security number.
i didn't know that some blogs feature your home address and ss#
Only blogs run by Ed McMahon and the IRS.
lol
I like blogs where the content is good and the blogger responds to my comments.

I dislike blogs that discriminate people. I also despise people that use autoplay because like Mr. Apron, it's always Coldplay or Shania, or Fergie. And also I don't know why but the speakers randomly turn on on my computer at work so it's really bad when your boss - who has a hearing sensitivity problem - hears shitty music blaring. Bad news.
