I like blogs that have a clean, nice design and who write posts that are honest so that you can get a feel of the person who is writing them. I also enjoy photos, but not to many.
It turn me off a blog if I feel that the design is messy, or that there is just two much going on. If the color scheme makes it hard to read on the eyes, then that's no good either. Also if they become just about telling what you did that day, just a report with no refections then that's pretty dull to. I'm not going to come back to a blog because the design is pretty if the content bores me..
I don't like small text, on a black background, with anything glittering and flashing.
I also hate it when people don't type properly or correct their spelling mistakes (I make spelling mistakes, but I usually catch them and fix them).
I read a blog where most of the titles had typos or spelling mistakes and the blog was a few months old. You can go back and edit! Take some pride in your writing.
Also, I like paragraphs. I'll stop reading if the person has just posted a huge clump of text. The thing about writing for the internet is that your eye gets distracted easier than it does when reading a book or magazine. Small paragraphs are generally better.
Turn ons:
Pictures (I'm a kid at heart)
Being real
Humor, especially when you're laughing at your own life/stuff that's happened.
Turn offs:
Terrible layouts/ads/too much stuff everywhere
Not using paragraphs. Seriously, if you write either in one large block, or 1 sentence per line, I might hate you
Bad spelling

My blog turns ons are: a nice, easy-on-the-eyes layout and attention grabbing content (funny/intelligent posts, inspiring artwork etc), and an 'about me' that makes me come to the conclusion that the blogger is a cool person :)
Blog turns off: Poor grammar, black background/white writing, autoplay
