I hear you asking: "WTF is Bloggerstock?!" You may have heard it tossed around in the chat. You may even have been to it's
website.
If you haven't heard the rumblings though, here is the deal.
Most of you have probably heard of blog swaps. Many of you probably participated in the last 20SB blog swap. Well, some of us wanted to take blog swaps to a whole new level. We would like to think that we were the first to come up with this idea, but odds are someone did it first somewhere else, but we have given it a name and hopefully some wings to perpetuate itself.
The idea behind Bloggerstock is that instead of being paired off like a normal blog-swap, we create a "blog-ring" as-it-were. Blogger #1 writes a post for blogger #2, #2 for #3 and so on. The last person writes for the first person. Each blogger leaves a trackback link from the post they write to the post that was written for them thus creating a linked ring of blogs.
The hope is to be able to make this a monthly event with open sign ups at the beginning of the month and the post date on the last day of the month. Each month we will pick a topic for all the posts to be about and we will give out a post title. The cool thing would be if we got enough participants to give google a heart attack when lots of bloggers post posts with the same title!
We are kicking off the event this month with 10 participants. We kept this first attempt closed for trial purposes and to work out as many bugs as we could. Inevitably we will find more bugs when we open up the sign-ups to the world. Hopefully we can keep it organized. We will certainly be open to comments and suggestions on how to get things going and on topics and all that kind of stuff.
So, if you want to learn more about Bloggerstock or join in the fun, please feel free to ask questions here or visit our website. You can also tweet at us at:
@bloggerstock. Also feel free to contact any of the "founders" who can be found listed
here. The trial/kickoff posts will go up on Friday and you can find links to all of our blogs on the
Bloggerstock site. We hope that people will find this to be a fun and interesting addition to the blogsphere, so sign up if you are interested, and tell your friends!
