Hey all - I've never actually posted a discussion, so we'll see how this goes, but Arjewtino (a 30SB - gasp!) wrote this post today about blogging well into his golden years. I'm curious, and so is he, has anyone else thought about the lifespan of a blog?
I've not thought about it, but it is something I've done in one way or another since high school if you include live and dead journals, so it may just be one of those things that follow me through life, or not. It really isn't hard to do at this point in time it takes no time at all so I think though there may be some dead zone times it will probably continue.

Blogging is such a new phenomenon that it's barely been around for a decade, so it'll be interesting to see what kind of staying power it has. I have no intention of going anywhere anytime soon, though.
As for people giving it up at any point, I don't see that happening so much as people evolving their blogging into new creative forms. The beauty of it is that the possibilities are endless, the people you meet are amazing, and it's all-around good fun.
FYI...I'll be running 80SB. So write yourself a sticky note so you remember to join me around the year 2060.
Can't say I'll be blogging that long, but I think I'll still be writing in some form. I don't seem myself giving up that passion or seeing it fade away on it's own. Regardless, it is an interesting question to think about.
My Grandma is 89 and still e-mails! What do you think about that? Granted, she uses WebTV (yes, apparently they are still around and I think she is their only customer), but it gets the job done and saves me from having to supply computer tech support to her.
