The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Today is the final day of my seasonal job (I do taxes) and as I approach unemployment I would love some suggestions of books to read while I'm drinking lemonade on my back deck or snuggling with my puppy on the couch.

What are you reading right now?

What is a book you think everyone needs to read at least once?

Milan Kundera's "The Unbearable Lightness of Being."
I just read the summary on Amazon for this book. It sounds pretty interesting. Thanks for the suggestion!
General books I think everyone should read in their life:
The Great Gatsby
The Bell Jar
Tom Sawyer
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Hamlet

Books on the Lighter and Fluffier Side that I enjoyed:
The Secret History of the Pink Carnation
Bitter is the New Black
Enchanted INC
Hood by Stephen Lawhead
How I Paid for College: A Novel of Sex, Friendship & Musical Theater
Fully second The Great Gatsby, Harry Potter and Bell Jar! <3
I'm currently trying to get through the 3 books in the "Wicked" series by Gregory MacGuire - I'm on book 2, "Son of a Witch", right now.

Hubby just got "Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter" by Seth Grahame-Smith and he's working on that one - I'm planning on reading it soon when he's done.

I'm also looking forward to book 10 in the "Southern Vampire Mysteries" by Charlaine Harris (the Sookie Stackhouse novels that HBO's TrueBlood is based on). If you like vampires and other supernatural creatures with a dash of romance and a strong female lead, be sure to check these out - I got hooked last fall and can't wait for the next book in the series!
I've read Wicked and Son of a Witch. I got half way through with A Lion Among Men. I just think the neither of them are as good as Wicked.
Yeah, I made through the first section of Son of a Witch, where he finally wakes up, but I just haven't an urging need to continue.

I think it might just be Macguire's writing - I had the worst time trying to get through Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, as it was kind of slow up until the end and I just couldn't get into it, as much as I love different takes on classic fairytales. Wicked was the same way - it had it's parts that I could get through no problem, then it would get kinda slow... same with this one, the parts in his memory were good, but the rest was slow. I'm not one to not finish a book I started though, so I'm determined to get through it, I'm just hoping I can do it before the next Sookie book comes out so I don't put it off and forget to finish this one, lol...
I'm reading The Hobbit. I've never read ANY of the LOTR series (I know, I know!) And I'm changing that this year!!!
classic
good luck! I tried reading Fellowship of the Ring before the movie came out and just got bored in the first chapter... love the movies though! then again, I was in high school, maybe I'll go back someday and give it another try =)
Currently reading:

The Beautiful Boy
The Time Travelers Wife
Urbans Way
Twilight Saga :X (Dont bash me for this) lol
If you like YA lit, I'd suggest these:
City of Bones
City ofAshes
City of Glass
by Cassandra Clare

The Hunger Games
Catching Fire
Mockingjay (out in August)
by Suzanne Collins

Both of these trilogies are are incredible!
