The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Yesterday I posted a review about The Perks of Being A Wallflower, this book seriously changed my life in middle school and remains one of my favorite books... ever.

Do you have a book like this? Something so amazing that totally spoke to you and you alone?

I know a lot of people have been inspired by this book, but it truly can be life changing - The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. Great book to help someone find direction or meaning, loved it!
Was totally going to be my answer....good call....

Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell and Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

I second Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. That combined with The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho changed my entire perspective.
OMG I agree. Phew, I thought I was the only one. I couldn't even finish it because it was so negative.
Blue Like Jazz, Donald Miller. A great book for people struggling spiritually.

I have been reading Donald Miller ever since.
LOVE LOVE LOVE that book, the introduction is my favorite quote ever.

"I never liked jazz music because jazz music doesn't resolve. But I was outside the Baghdad Theater in Portland one night when I saw a man playing the saxophone. I stood there for fifteen minutes, and he never opened his eyes.

After that I liked jazz music.

Sometimes you have to watch somebody love something before you can love it yourself. It is as if they are showing you the way.

I used to not like God because God didn't resolve. But that was before any of this happened."
Okay, I'm going to read that. Thanks, Kimberley and Ramny. Nice teamwork!
they're so right, seriously, read that book! his other books are great too, specifically A Million Miles in a Thousand Years.
that book really opened my eyes and somewhat inspired me to start a blog with my best friend and sister. It's all about making your story better. Every day is a story, and it's up to us whether it's an exciting, triumphant story, or a boring, uneventful story that nobody would want to read. very cool book!
So after reading this discussion topic I went out and bought it a day or so ago....and I love it so far. It's actually entertaining to read his perspective on life. He writes like he thinks....and isn't completely "proper" if you will. Love it. :-) Diary of KFun
I must agree - Blue Like Jazz is phenomenal. I just bought A Million Miles in a Thousand Years by Donald Miller, but haven't started it yet. I also really liked Quiet Strength by Tony Dungy. If you're into football, family, and Jesus, you should check it out.
