The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I recently changed the URL of my blogger through google and I was wondering if this affected my followers ability to see my posts in their feed? Or if it affects anything else for that matter. Thank you!

When I only had about 2 followers I changed my blog URL. My followers were my good friends and they didn't say anything about not being able to find it any more. They still showed up as followers, too. So I can't say for certain, but it didn't cause a huge problem for me when I was just getting started. If you have any other links out there though, that will be a problem.

I wouldn't recommend relying on this for yours because, like I said, I had two total followers so I didn't have much to lose. haha
Anyone who was following you through Blogger's little social blogging stuff should have been carried through to your new blog.

Unfortunately, you most likely ditched most of your readers who were using normal RSS readers (including Google Reader), as Blogger "frees up" your old URL rather than redirecting your readers to the new one. This also means that any external links (from other blogs, search engines, and anything else that might point to your content) are broken and will bring the people following them to "Not Found" pages.

My best suggestion would be to register another blog at the old address and make a single post redirecting anybody still keeping an eye on that feed to your new URL.
That is what I am going to do. I still had my same amount of followers but I noticed that I was no longer getting comments (from my usual, faithful readers) so I switched it back and VOILA! comments! I didn't think about registering a new one to keep there - thank you SO much!
Anytime. ;)
