The Bloggers With The Most To Say

It's the hottest button in show biz right now and every network has gotten in their digs at NBC. I blogged about it today, but what do you think of this ridiculous circus?

Team Conan or the Jay-Team?

I could care less if either of them are on to be perfectly honest. I don't find late night television very clever any longer.

I prefer to watch old movies late at night.
I gotta say, I'm Team Conan. Which is strange because I rarely watch Conan (though when I do I find him hilarious!) and I really liked Jay, pre-10pm show.

Not even factoring in the whole "Conan moved his life and employees across the country" argument in, I just find it unfair that they're basically penalizing Conan for Jay's poor ratings. Yes, I'm aware Conan hasn't done the greatest in ratings either, but he's been in the Tonight Show spot for 7 months. No one is going to outdo their predecessor in only 7 months, and definitely not in these skewed dvr times. And not even Jay did amazing in his first few months. Conan hasn't been given the time he needs to build a strong following, and it's crap that the network is using that as a reason to want to bump him.

I think Jay's time is up. He had an extremely prosperous career, and he needs to step aside and let someone else take over now.
I totally agree. It's interesting because I know a bunch of "big Conan fans," people who really loved Late Night and admire his work, but don't watch his show - myself included. And that's the whole problem. The people that love him haven't been watching. But through this controversy, everyone's come forward and Conan is as powerful now, as he's about to be ousted, as he's ever been. Which is why I think there's a possibility this ends with Conan doing The Tonight Show in the original 11:30 time slot.
Neither. I think they're both pretty freaking boring.

Although I will say that I'm Team Coco if I have to pick.
I love Jay. He doesn't do the same stuff as everyone else. He doesn't just do a monologue, than interview celebrities. He does his 10 @ 10, the racing thing he has, the Earn your plug! It's such a better show! And his monologue is amazing! I don't find Conan funny.

In general though, I do think what NBC is doing is very smart. Jay is more than a monologue. And Conan was successful. Why are they trying to short change both of them? When I thought NBC was finally starting to turn around they go and F it all up again.
Moving this to the Everything Else forum. Please be aware of where you are posting.

But for the record: Team Conan! :)
Team Conan. Jay needs to retire or host Top Gear USA.
Four for you, Team Coco! You go Team Coco.
YES. I was talking to someone earlier today and said this and they were like ........? Obviously, they fail at life for not getting it.
conan
cept when he had heidi and spencer on he almost lost me

kinda weird to have them on and then anderson cooper on the next day
Team Conan!
I have not paid a bit of attention to this, but Conan for sure. He's the only thing funny on late night TV.
