The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Who comes first, your readers or yourself?

I am struggling with that lately. Sometimes, I like posting the contents of my mind without delination, boundaries or a particular theme ( see my last post). It's has a bizarrely theraputic quality. But I usually get a better response when I post on central subject ( see this post or this one).

I'd be interested to hear other people's thoughts. Do you consider other reader's thought before (or after) blogging? Are the contents of your mind too self indulgent to post?

the question will be- are you blogging for yourself or for others?

if you choose the latter, that would make you a slave of your blog. but sometimes, it's nice to ride with other people's schemes like participating in synchroblogs.

i think it will wind up to the reason why you started blogging.
that was just my thought.
My feeling is: if you want to write strictly for yourself, completely devoid of outside influences, opinions, preferences or engagement-- then keep a diary.

Blogging is meant to be a shared experience, and I feel that bloggers have a responsibility to keep their readers in mind. That doesn't mean you have to pander, but you have to be aware that there are others out there reading your words (which, even after all this time, still shocks me) and that must be taken into consideration. Otherwise, it's diary time.
