The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Hey All!

I'm new to 20SB, and I would love to talk to ppl/read blogs/ get to know/ ppl that come from diverse backgrounds. If you have traveled, or come from a family with contradictory background, or struggle with social expectations vs individuality -- I would love to talk to you, or read your blog!

I am writing a personal narrative for a book of essays that will soon be published, and im looking to spark ideas and create discussion. It will be about my experience as an Arab American born and raised in the US-- issues, dilemmas, struggles etc.

I love to write!! talk to me ;)

Check, check, check....we should talk! I'm a 'mutley' American (African, Mexican, Native) born and raised in the Pacific Northwest by southerners and Chicagoans...currently living in Italy.
what are you doing in Italy?
Learning Italian?
I enjoy learning about other cultures mainly the language, food, and social norm.
Although here coffee (and the rules surrounding it) seems to trump most others.

-- I never really know how to answer without going into a long drawn-out story but one of the above normally works just fine.--
Great thread...
Heres my details.... Well I am East African East Indian born and raised in Canada... Id love to talk :)
are your parents Indian?
I'm afraid my upbringing isn't all that interesting - white boy raised Catholic, although I don't really attend church much anymore. Raised by both of my parents who are still married today. And grewup with 2 older sisters.

I'm dull I suppose. :)
Oh yeah...I'm an American boy.

(that's a song too)
Where are your parents from ? Origin wise...
you are far from dull
The world has globalized in a profound way that even when you are not living in the place that you were raised, you somehow seem to find your comfort zone. No matter where you are, you can find you little spot in the world. We surround ourselves with things and people that make us feel at home....

You will find many south American friends here in the US. - No matter where you end up.
I was born in Vermont raised in Sydney for a couple of years, Tasmania until 7th grade, with a short stint in Venezuela. Moved to Maryland at that time.
