The Bloggers With The Most To Say

So, I'm gonna say it right off the bat.  I HATE Daylight Savings.  For more reasons than one.  I wrote a post today about it in an attempt to release my (irrational?) anger and hate.

But in talking to some other people today, I noticed that the hatred was not unanimous.  I am wondering why.

So please let me know your stance, pro or con on this elimination of an hour (if you have experienced it today....or ever).  Because I would like to understand both sides in the hopes that it will quell my hour-loss rage, either in finding people that agree with me or people that give me reason to question my position.  I'm willing to be open-minded on this one!

I wish it could be daylight savings year round. But this may just be because I associate daylight savings with summer and wish it could be summer year round.

Either way, I don't like the time change. Ask me some time about the time I almost missed my flight for my wedding because the cabby didn't realize it was daylight savings... =P
I'm asking.

What happened that time you almost missed your flight for your wedding because the cabby didn't realize it was DLST??!! Inquisitive minds need to know!
I live in Tokyo. Daylight savings time does not occur here and to be honest, I think it was a waste when I lived in the States.
Western Australia doesn't do Daylight Savings either, as far as I'm aware. I think people voted against it.
That would be super cool if in the States we were allowed to vote on DLST. However, about a month after the fact I am loving waking up to gorgeous sunlight, so I am not sure. The sleep disruptions and the consequences on my appearance may have all been worth it.
I miss living in Iceland. They don't "fall" back or "spring" forward...it's just whatever time it is. This is ridiculous. I understand why we do it, and "falling" back does give us an extra hour of sleep (supposedly). But I hate the Spring change!
Ooooh Iceland. I think I would like any place that was just straightforward about their time zone. What is this America!? It's like schizophrenic time zone! Let's play a game and see which one you like more! Or, wait...maybe they're trying to please everyone and in doing so half the population gets to be happy half the year and miserable during the other half?

I don't know. I do know that today is gorgeous in New England and I plan to go get some sun ASAP!
I really don't mind it. I did hear a comedian not so long back suggest we just go forwards or back half an hour at the next switch and just stay that way... when you think about it, that's not that crazy a suggestion, what is half an hour give or take, we're all probably stuck in traffic or watching tv anyway!
I don't understand DLST, never have, never will. I'm in the only province in Canada that doesn't do it (and I mean our ENTIRE province), thank god. It's so confusing.. I hate figuring out if someone is two hours ahead or three depending on the time of year. And then my TV schedule gets all screwed up. don't get me started! lol. I recently went to Costa Rica and loved that they were exactly the same time zone as us, and that they also didnt do DLST. Maybe it's only Canada and the US (with the exception on Saskatchewan and apparently Arizona - something I never knew till this thread!)
THINK OF THE FARMERS!!! ;)
You've clearly never heard of Saskatchewan (it's okay though, not many people have), but it's pure prairies. Farming is all we're known for. And we don't do dlst. So there will be no excuse that the farmers need it! :)
I'm completely joking. I was just thinking of the Simpsons' episode where Homer gets angry at Daylight Savings because of the "stupid farmers." In actuality, I feel like it should be done away with, or they should make the day after the change a holiday.
