I am avoiding the city like the plague Monday and Tuesday.

LMAO...I know right? I'll be cozied up on my couch.
Like a lot of other people, I think the safest place with the best view would be from the sofa, watching it on TV, lol. My brother's kid said that there are people booking rooms as far as West Virginia and throughout Pennsylvannia for it. It's sounds like it's going to be hell anywhere near the city, so good luck getting around!
I live in WV and my whole town is BOOKED SOLID. I'm 2 hours away from the city center on a good day w/o traffic. People are cra-zay!
I am only jealous of the people going to the inauguration who will have "Oprah-like" access. I'm talking exclusive access and seating to the parades, speeches, and most importantly, ALL OF THE PARTIES.

otherwise, for all of those who will be standing on the lawn (freezing) with practically none of their belongings, I say GOD BLESS YOU but I don't have the courage nor stamina to subject myself to anything like that.

I will have a comfy front row view on my sofa and, for that, I am grateful.
well, i live less than 30 minutes from the city but will be crashing at night w/a friend who lives in the middle of adams morgan. and i figure, what's the use in being young and able bodied if i'm not there to watch (even if it's from a distance) history taking place right before my eyes? as far as parties, i'm skipping the overpriced balls, but so many friends are going to be in town, so going out will still be fun!
for anyone interested, there's a "bloggerational ball" going on this sunday night in the city.
I go to school in D.C. and I am also staying out of the city completely. I'm hanging at my apartment with friends. I actually did score some tickets but I gave them away.
