Derby Girls

I've always had a small fascination with Roller Derbys... I was an avid roller skater when I was in middle school and into the first couple years of high school (stop laughing). I always secretly wanted to be a roller girl.

I recently rented Whip It and my obsession with becoming a roller girl have resurfaced in full force. I even have a couple names picked out (Krash KarSMASHian being the favorite right now).

I'm debating whether or not to throw my fears and reservations to the wind and just try out for the local team (what else is there to really do in North Dakota?) or play it safe and keep my bones in one piece.

Have any of you ever been on a roller derby team? Been to a jam? Known anyone on a team?
