Well, people were under the impression that the flood of people trying to set their names right at a minute past the hour (11:01p for us CDT peeps ;) ) would manage to take Facebook down, or at least cause something to break. I applaud them for not only keeping everything up, but responsive to the point where the flood of people didn't seem to impact anything in the least.
And to think people were going crazy about the Twitpocalypse (which was forced just a few hours before that) :P ...
I got mine (erinichristine -- though I'm picky about adding people, FYI) ... I don't use my last name online much. It's always Erini Christine (my middle name) or Erini CS (middle & last initial). So having my link become easier to access isn't a huge bonus for me. I know I could change my last name on my profile... but I've got family on there so it won't really make much difference.
I was even sort of cautious about listing my blog as a Networked Blog on facebook, since it'll be linked to my last name... but got over that a little bit.
If my name wasn't plastered all over my office's website with my work number -- which comes up right at the top in google searches -- then maybe I wouldn't care so much.
Well, I certainly wasn't worried about not getting my own name - there simply aren't many of us - but realized I could get it with just my last name. Sweeeeet. http://www.facebook.com/skutnick
Of course, this means I'm the only Skutnick in the world to be accessed via just that name, but I'm sure the other five or something, ha, won't mind.
