The Bloggers With The Most To Say
I guess most people are a bit of both... I am really an introvert at times *shy* which is probably why haven't created a discussion yet.
It's strange that even though I am anonymous online, I'm still my quiet self (note...not quiet amongst friends, just strangers)
Well, here I am, somewhere inbetween. Still, as a 21 year old, I should be working on my social skills, but tend to run (walk really fast) to a "safer place" when in public.
Now I feel like I've created a discussion that belongs more in the mental health forums. lol. But still, it's great to meet you guys. I think many of your blogs are really cool:)
So, Hi.
Flameheart from The Fire in my eyes
(my name is really Megan, but I like Flameheart;)
Pretty much the biggest introvert on the planet, right here. Which is why I'm eternally grateful to whoever invented the internet!
Permalink Reply by Erin McNaughton on January 28, 2012 at 10:41pm I agree so much! I have a hard time making real-life connections, but over the internet is a breeze!
Permalink Reply by Flameheart on January 30, 2012 at 11:54am In a way, I blame the internet for making things too easy... Real-life connections are great, but the internet makes it easy for us to shy away from them (me included). Not that the internet isn't real... or is it?
Man, now I'm just being strange and philosophical. lol.
Definitely initially read that as "the biggest extrovert" and I was like, "But you love the internet...?" Skimming fail.
Permalink Reply by Kelli Shea on January 29, 2012 at 1:46am I would say I have always been somewhat of an extrovert.
Might be my biggest downfall, ha.
Permalink Reply by Alessia Elettra C. on January 30, 2012 at 5:19pm I am an extrovert, but I don't like to be under the spotlight and I might be shy at times. I am with men I like, for instance.
I manage very well social situations and I am of the networker kind. I end up talking to anyone who talks to me, sometimes I talk to people first but it's mostly people talking to me first because I rarely approach people, only if I have a reason to talk to someone. I don't like to disturb people, so I keep at a distance and observe until action is required.
However, my actions are definitely those of an extrovert.
Permalink Reply by Cat Lynch on January 30, 2012 at 6:11pm Definitely an introvert. I love people, and a large part of my job is interacting with a bunch of people throughout the day, but after it's over I'm usually exausted and ready to retreat to some solitude.
There's a really interesting article in this month's Time Magazine about Introverts full of interesting facts (ex: your initial personality is hardwired into you- there's believed to be a link between introversion and genetic makeup) It also addresses the common misconception that shyness (which relates to social anxiety) = introversion (being drained, rather than energized by people)
I'm with you- even online it's hard to get out of the introverted shell and interact with people (do you also hate phones? or is that just me?)
Cute blog, by the way. you've got some nice things happening in your non-objective work
Permalink Reply by Shelly on January 30, 2012 at 8:11pm I'm an antisocial extrovert.
I don't like being around people most of the time, and I complain if I have to go out--but once I'm out, I have a good time...Most of the time, anyway.
I'm an extrovert, but a controlling one, which forced me to sometimes be an introvert as a kid. Like...I played by myeslf more often than not because no one else could play right. Yea. I was one of those kids. But I've grown out of that...mostly. >.>
But in general, I am most definitely an extrovert. When I took Myers-Briggs I was 100% E and 0% I, sooo...
I'm not one to just go up and talk to a random stranger I see on the street, but I don't really have an issue meeting new people. I'm kind of a chatterbox, so it's not hard for me to keep a conversation going. I love love love being with people. In fact there was one night in college where I just didn't feel like going out and being with people and my best friend was like, "Who are you and what have you done with Sarah?" I just love people. :)
Permalink Reply by Dianne R. on February 1, 2012 at 11:28am I am extrovert 95% of the time. I tend to gravitate toward being the center of attention. I like to make people laugh.
BUT if I'm in a super large crowd and I don't know a few people, I'll clam up.
