The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Do you donate money to charities?  With October's "pink wave" of breast cancer research awareness starting tomorrow, I'm curious about whether people here donate money - and whether it's to support homeless shelters locally or to end hunger half a world away, to cure a disease a relative had, or help children with autism, to fund a home for the aged, keep animals from being euthanized, keep our armed forces safe or any one of hundreds of worthy causes.

I just set up my Ebates account to contribute money that I get back from shopping online to Dress for Success - they help women enter the workforce for the first time.  I also write them a check, but this way I can donate an extra couple hundred dollars (and if I give into my longing for a pair of Cole Haan shoes from DSW, that may go up!).

Usually my donation comes when it is time for Relay for Life as 2 of my grandparents and several of my friends are battling cancer. Most years I participate on a team and raise money (as well as giving a donation myself.) I also occasionally donate money when friends alert me of a specific cause they are advocating for.

(However, this reminds me that I REALLY ought to donate a dress I used for a wedding to girls needing prom dresses.)
That's a great concept to donate money you've saved! I've been donating to the Polaris Project, which combats human trafficking.
I donate to international disaster relief funds. The only "charity" I regularly donate to though is the NPO I work for and my college.
I've donated to the ASPCA and Humane Society in my area.
My charity is love 146. It's basically to stop child sex slavery. It Does happen, even though people here don't really think about it. Love146 talks a lot about the international things they're doing, but they do have outreaches in the US too since it does happen here. Its the only charity I've ever blogged about or bothered promoting to people I know.

Children Should Not Be Sex Slaves.
I do - PETA, because animals need people to stand up for them, and World Vision - my partner and I have three sponsor children.
Yup, for tons of things. Mostly Relay for Life for breast cancer, but I also do a ton of volunteer work that includes raising money for charities- Ronald McDonald House, Kiva, different pet shelters, etc.
I do donate to charities but it has to be charities that are totally legit and well known. For one of the charities I have given to check out my blog post "Whatever Wednesday: My B-day Wish" here. Giving to others always makes me feel good and I may not have a whole lot of money being unemployed but every year I make sure I give $10 to at least one worthy charity. By giving just a little bit, I feel like I can make a huge impact and help change the world and make it a better, safer place for all of us and for future generations!
I typically donate to whatever the person at the cash register at the grocery store asks me to donate to.
Well I donate to a local chairty. Nothing international. But I do donate to a lot of orphanages and old age homes. Things that mean something to me.
