Do You Follow Those who Follow You?
Do you follow your followers? Sometimes I get followers that are weird or their blog is about a topic I really don't care for. If you leave a comment on my page I will definitely comment back to you.

I have a folder in my GReader called "pending" where I put blogs I've discovered but haven't made the decision to follow yet. After a week or so, I usually make my decision on whether to follow them or wait a bit longer. Kind of like GReader Limbo.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "follow" someone. I subscribe to blogs on my RSS feed, and usually those blogs are either ones I discover via others or people who have commented on my blog. I don't subscribe to everyone who comments on my blog, but I do with most. It just depends on how I feel about what they write about. I've seen some people with the Google Friends Connect app but I don't use that so that's not a method for me to "follow" anyone. I use Bloglines as my RSS feed and I add people as I see fit.
However, I do reply to comments on my blog when I can. Sometimes there's nothing to reply to, but sometimes if someone asks a question or I feel I need to add clarification, then I will.

I do check out their blog and leave a comment but I will not always subscribe to their blog, unless I find it interesting.

If people leave a comment then I will either comment back, or e-mail them - I only really follow them if they're blog attracts me. I just don't like the whole you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours - they chose to come to my blog in the first place!

sometimes i follow people who follow me, if i like th topic of their blog, if i dont follow them , i try to comment on one of their posts.

I always check out their blogs, and I find that most of the people that comment or follow me have interesting blogs, so I end up following them as well!

I've fallen into this trap for sure! I'm new to blogging (although, not to writing) and I feel guilty if someone "follows" me and I don't "follow" back, but now I'm "following" a bunch of blogs that I really don't find interesting at all... I actually tried to figure out how to un-follow a few, but couldn't find a way. If I'm missing something on that I would really LOVE being told how to stop getting the reminders on my dashboard for blogs I care nothing about!

Hmm...I follow some of my followers, but not all. Because I have a strict "no adult links" policy for my blog, I don't follow pornographic or overly fetishistic websites, for example. I do visit everyone who comments on my blog though, and I leave a comment on theirs.

sometimes i wish i hadn't started "following" anyone and just subscribed to them via reader. it seems like less pressure that way.
that being said - i always try to comment back to those who take the time to comment on my blog - either via email response or on their blog. i've found a lot of blogs i like this way - but also get stuck in the trap of reading blogs that i have no interest in and doing the old "courtesy comment" which is lame. i also don't get offended if i follow people who don't follow me - i understand completely! :)

Hmm I definitely don't follow everyone who leaves me comments, although if I see a comment from someone who I don't recognize, I always check out their blog. If I like it, I'll comment!
