The Bloggers With The Most To Say

That may sound confusing, but what I'm asking is: If someone becomes a follower of your blog, do you check out their blog and become a follower of theirs (if you like it, of course)?

Thanks for the feedback!

If I like it, I'll probably check it for a week or two before following. If I don't like it, I may check it every once in a while, but I don't feel an obligation to follow my followers - I do sorta feel like I should at least check out their blog though, in which case I may not have otherwise.
I've been thinking about this a lot, lately.

I've had people come on who have just added themselves as my followers ( and I love followers), but when I go to their site it's just.. not my thing. Or it's strictly for giveaways.

While I still have a manageable group of followers, I go to all of their sites.

I feel like if someone is not only a 'follower' of mine, but regularly comes to my site and comments? Then I follow them irregardless.
I definitely check it out. I'll keep reading for a week or two and if I'm still really liking it, I will add it to my reader. If I'm not a huge fan, I still will try to drop in periodically if I notice they are pretty visible on my blog.

I do always try to answer comments though via email when I'm able to.
This pretty much is my answer too. I've sort of fallen behind on responding to comments but I always try to check out the blogs of people who visit.
I feel like this is general blog etiquette. I'm not as talented as others at keeping up with everyone, but if someone drops by my blog, I make it a point to return the favor; if I lose interest, at least I keep the RSS feed around and check in on it every once in a while (I go into lurking).
If someone comments on my blog, especially if they comment more than once, then I add his/her blog to my reader. From there I try to read and comment on his/her blog. I'm sometimes not very good at keeping up with people, but I try because blog relationships are about that give a take.
I tend to follow those who follow me. Or at least take a look at their blog.

If they liked my blog enough to follow it, they must have thoughts or opinions somewhat similar to my own, and therefore are worth a chance.

But, I only have a small and comfortable following. I consider them more "blog friends" than "blog followers"

... is that sad?
I rarely notice when I have new followers-- I'm more aware of commenters.

I try to always check out my readers' blogs, if they have one, but sometimes I don't get around to it until they've commented a few times (or emailed me or @ed me on Twitter).

There aren't enough hours in the day to keep up with all of the blogs I'd like to read, and I noticed that when I was trying to do that, I just ended up skimming everyone. So now I don't bog myself down with obligations to keep up-- I just read what I want to read. I find that I enjoy reading (and blogging) a lot more now and am creating more meaningful relationships with other bloggers.

I don't think anyone should read my blog because they feel obligated to and they definitely shouldn't read it just so that I'll read their's.
as someone who doesn't have a job with computer access throughout the day, i try to check out my followers' blogs as much as i can. sometimes it's all i can do to read my "blog friends" blogs, so i am definitely guilty of staying in my little bubble more often than not.

i think, though, definitely, i'm most likely to go to their blog if they leave regular comments on mine, because then they are on my radar.

and of course, i always answer emails as soon as i can.

sigh. i wish there were more hours in the day.
I always check them out. More times than not, I do follow them. I always enjoy a new read and especially if I like their style and/or content. It makes passing a slow Friday afternoon as you wait for calls in the office go by faster.
Yeah, I'll check it for sure! I check anyone new that appears on my blog. I'll make my decision immediately though. I know what I like and what I don't. I'll read the back pages and then add.
I do too. I dont wait until for a few weeks. I read them back a fw posts and if I like it, I usually add it to my readers.
