I just wrote a blog post about my goals for this year, and it turned into a post about procrastination. I never really thought of myself as a procrastinator, but I'm starting to realize that maybe I am about some things, and I'm not sure why. I think sometimes it's fear--fear of failure, embarrassment, being hurt, etc. But in other cases, I'm not sure what it is.
Do you procrastinate? And if so, what types of things do you typically put off for another time?
Procrastination should really have been my middle name. Blogging only hightens my procrastination talents, I swear. Almost positive that anything that is brought to my attention to get done (ie. dishes, invoicing, yard work, cleaning....the list could go on.) gets slapped with my middle name, especially if its not something that I jump for joy to do.
Basically, if you ask me to do something.....unless I do it right away, I never really wanted to do it--even if I did previously agree. Without it I would be souless, Im convinced.
I procrastinate a LOT! It can be about studies, small errands...anything. Nothing specific. like now...I was supposed to complete two chapters of surgery by now...and I quit half way and the study break just got extended a bit too long!! And my exams are from 7th feb!!! A lot factors depend on why I procrastinate...Boredom (because of a very short attention span at times), fear of failure at times...but mostly because I work well under pressure. that's when i get the adrenaline rush. The extra push to achieve my goals. When i know I've a lot of time in my hand to complete my work...i would delay doing it...till the time I know I got to act now to complete the task in time. I don't postpone deadlines. But just start working on the task a bit late. the results are far better this way...in my case.
