Why do I hate it when people say words like "epic" and "fail?" Do most people get annoyed when someone uses these words? What other words bother people?
For some strange reason, there's a thing going on in my group of friends and they say 'medium'.
like "did you like that movie?" ... "medium! good plot, bad acting"
it's actually gotten so bad that some of my friends say it every other word... and sentences stop making sense. It drives me insane!
I have to admit I've often said 'epic fail!'... yes, both together haha. But I do consciously try not to, if I'm thinking about it

i say fail. only when absolutely appropriate. when someone seriously fucking fails. i will not, ever, say epic. that word makes me want to punch the mouth it comes out of. (:
The only appropriate use of Epic is when referring to Icelandic Epic Stories. "Remember when Olgrich killed those 63 men and saved his daughter from certain death whilst discovering that chest of old Norse gold?" "Yeah, that was epic."
exactly, i think this is why these types of words bother me so much. it's like people are on autopilot when they say them, and then, in my mind, it seems to show that the person is being thoughtless with their words and more importantly the conversation as a whole.
I started using the word fail two years ago after I become addicted to failblog.org, but now...people use it in the most trivial way, so I hate using it, because I don't like sounding like just any other idiot out there.
I do hate when people say, "I heart" whatever... You can't say love? Like?
