The Bloggers With The Most To Say

You know what's always fun? Finding new music. Don't you find?

My friend has a college-radio radio-show called E X P O S U R E whose purpose is to get the word out on lesser known artistes. 20SB needs something to that effect, no?

So let's do it.

What was the last musical artist you downloaded?

I'm currently rocking to the new Dirty Projectors album, "Bitte Orca." It's crazy, crazy good, plus just plain crazy. If you're into kind of strange, experimental post-rock check out "Bitte Orca." Not everybody's baggie of tea, but killer when given the chance.

I'm just getting into Toby Lightman. I honestly have no idea how long she's been around or anything else, but I love her voice. Also fantastic is a twin sister group called The Watson Twins. They just released their second studio album in the past month, and their first album, Fire Songs, is absolutely amazing. They've done an album or two with Jenny Lewis, but they shine on their own albums, especially in the songs "Dig a Little Deeper", "Southern Manners", and a fantastic cover of The Cure's "Just Like Heaven".
Last thing I downloaded was the Ke$ha album. but if we're looking for lesser known artists...
- The Exhibition
- Rachel Stamp
- The Fratellis (not really new, but haven't had much exposure in the US)

those are the first 3 that come to mind. lol
Local Natives. I love them.
Sam Tsui, The Covers album. He's amazing. You can get his stuff on iTunes

:D
I downloaded:
Grizzly Bear
Edward Shape
Vanessa Paridis
Edward Sharpe = <3 I listened to "Home" going into work this morning.
Ditto. Grizzly Bear.
Sarah Jaffe- Clementine. She has such a wonderful voice.
I was recently recommended and shortly thereafter downloaded the album "Desciples of the Unseen" by Aeternam

Described as death metal with a middle eastern influence.

Also downloaded the latest Slayer album "World Painted Blood"

Had to redownload Scars on Broadway because somehow I ended up with a clean version, and furthermore
- Phoenix
- Grizzly Bear
- The Soundtrack from "Fishing With John" for those experimental Jazz lovers out there...
I've got some friends who are really into Phoenix. I just checked them out. I hadn't realized I'd heard them before, but I dig it.

Also I'm obliged to check out anything labeled "experimental jazz."
Wow... the "Fishing with John" Soundtrack is amazing.
MGMT - Flash Delirium. It's the first single off their sophomore album. A return to their older stuff and not quite as fun as Time To Pretend of Kids, but def. a good listen.
