Traditional artist: Salvador Dali website
I've always been intrigued by the painting "The Persistance Of Memory" that I had always seen and decided to learn more about the artist.

Music: Marilyn Manson website
It started out as teenage rebellion music and has grown into a deep respect for his art.

Photographer: Jole Peter Witkin website
I'm interested in controversial art. Also fits for the above artist.

Film director: Luis Bunuel website
Ever since I learned about Salvador Dali, I've had a passion for surreal art and discovered that the Bunuel and Dali were friends and collaborated on a couple of films.

Writer: Vladimir Nabokov website
I'd always heard about the book "Lolita", and after I finally read it, I enjoyed Nabovok's writing style and began reading his many other novels.

Thought I'd add them all!
These are so cool! I checked out Witkin (I had never heard of him) and his stuff is awesome!
First: Holly, great thread!
Second: I'm on a short break, so I can't really spend time commenting on this thread... It'll take me forever. But I love this idea, especially because I'm an artist and I just love, love, love art!!!
Okay... Here is a small, small list.

Drawing/Painting
Amy Brown - amazing fairy artist.
Jasmine Becket-Griffith - also an amazing fairy artist. Her art style is more cartoon/cutesy based.
Celesse - I found her via deviantART many years ago and have been a follower ever since. Her art is adorable and some is quite chibi based.
Aurore I also found her via deviantART. Her art style is so unique!
Rina-Cat - Another deviantARTIST. I found Rina-Cat while looking up fanart for one of my favorite cartoon couples. She specializes in femslash art (female/female). I have never found femslash art that is as cute, warm and loving as hers. She's a great artist!
Bara-Chan ...Okay, yes. ANOTHER deviantARTIST. I love deviantART and have been there for many years. Bara-Chan has inspired many of my sketches and drawings. Her art is awesome!
Lois - Yes, yes. I don't even need to say where I found her! Lois is incredibly non-traditional with her color palette and by doing so, her art is unique and simply amazing.
Mike Krahulik - Gabe from Penny Arcade! I found him via the PA web comic and have admired his art ever since! It's really come a long way.
Lar deSouza - I found Lar via the two webcomics he creates awesome art for. Looking For Group and Least I Could Do.
Samwise - Creator of many beautiful World of Warcraft drawings.

Photography:
My wife, Jen. I keep dreaming of one day opening up our own photography business! ^_^

Music:
George Strait - Every song of his is amazing. And not only that, his music can be enjoyed by anyone - young or old. He also sang mine and Jen's song, so yes. I definitely love and adore his music. (I Cross My Heart is our song!)
Chris Ledoux - Also an amazing singer with many, many, many amazing songs. He also has quite a few songs about bull riding, including one that is one of my personal favorites. On top of that, he actually rode bulls! So he didn't "just sing" about them. (Cadillac Cowboy is my personal favorite.)
Garth Brooks - He has many songs I love, but also many that symbolize special memories. (Especially "That Girl is a Cowboy." BEAUTIFUL song!)
Brad Paisley - All of his songs are plain awesome. I am dying to see him in concert!!! And, he has a song that I feel represents Jen beautifully. I'm not a crier, but every time I hear the song I cry because it's so beautiful and makes me feel so giddy. I have an amazing wife. ("She's Everything" is the song I am talking about!)
Weird Al - All of his music is amazing. I'd LOVE to see him in concert as well. Funny and yet so, so awesome. And he can play a mean ass accordion.

I could keep going on with singers, as I have many favorite artists who are just amazing and have wonderfully fun, beautiful, funny and/or amazing songs. But those are my five main favorites.

Actors/Actresses
Johnny Depp - I love how he portrays such quirky characters. If I was an actress, I'd aim to be like him. I truly think his way of acting is an art form.

I have many other favorites, but most of them I like because they're hott in a movie or I love this movie, that movie, etc. So I don't want to really add them here unless I've actually watched a great deal of their movies or television episodes. And I want them to be a favorite for more than being eye candy. :P
that is not a small list Angela!!! ;)
No, trust me! :P It is! I have so many favorites and I believe in getting the word out there for amazing artists. Whether they're unknown or very, very well known. ^_^
I haven't heard of a lot of the those drawers and painters. I'm excited to look at them all.
I like, Banksy: http://www.banksy.co.uk/

I like, Andrew Bush's photography: http://www.andrewbush.net/

I like, Annie Leibovitz's photography (of course!): http://www.andrewbush.net/

I like, Louise Bourgeois: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louise_Bourgeois (specifically her Maman sculpture of the large spider, but her installations are pretty neat too!)

I like, Kathe Kollwitz: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%A4the_Kollwitz (Because that time period was SO interesting)

And I can't think of any others! :)
Love Banksy and Leibovitz, going to check out the others.
