The Bloggers With The Most To Say
I was just reading Lorraine's post about people's first impressions (which was super fun) and I thought it would be fun to have a blog edition! You always have to sort of guess what you think people's first impressions of you are, but with our blogs, we can actually get people to tell us exactly that. (Question is, is there a blog equivalent of "bitch face"?)
What's your first impression of the blog above you?

I really like your writing style and even though it's an anonymous blog it feels like it's an actual person talking...not some faceless wonder of the world.
PS: I love Sex and the City..maybe that's why it's the first thing that came to mind.

Your dark colors make me think that it's more of a New England beach - a place that has Nor'Easters. Your colors are definitely not a California beach.
You're very family oriented, as you mention your sisters and your boyfriend in yoru about page. I'm not a hundred percent sure what your blog is actually about, except that it's about you. I think it's a journal of a surfer girl, and I kind of like that.
Alright, folks. I'm curious: http://www.shoesneverworn.com
Permalink Reply by tarrahlc on January 17, 2012 at 4:13pm You're good! WA beach but definitely close to the dark colors associated w/ NE beaches :)
My first thought was that you're a pretty serious person. The black and white with the hint of burgundy, the picture of the child in the header, and the reference to Hemingway all sort of contributed to this dark, subdued perception.
Writing is clearly more than just something you do occasionally. Aside from the fact that you have a reference to your debut novel in your sidebar, there is a crispness and maturity to the language you use in your posts. I would wager from your location in Afghanistan, as well as the disclaimer at the bottom, that you are somehow affiliated with the U.S. Army.

Have at it. :)
Permalink Reply by Sara Nipples on January 17, 2012 at 4:40pm I get the impression that you're a really cool chick, someone I would be friends with probably. I would guess you're really confident because you have a lot of cute pictures of yourself up. Your page layout is clean, which makes me love you even more, because damn it, I love a clean blog look.
And after going through your about me section, I've realized that we have a crap load of things in common. I'm a Sara, too. I adore my chapstick. And mornings make me want to punch babies. <3
Permalink Reply by Kendra on January 17, 2012 at 4:38pm Sarah Hayes- my first impression is that you seem fun and creative. Which instantly makes me want to look around your blog some so great on that! and after reading your about me and looking around more, you seem like the type of person I would actually want to talk to and a blogger who would interact and not be "untouchable" if you know what I mean! I also like that your design is consistent, I'm a blog designer so those things jump out at me lol :)
Permalink Reply by Karie on January 17, 2012 at 7:32pm You are obviously artistic and creative. I like the style of your blog - clean lined with a touch of whimsical. I would imagine your personality is similar. You seem like the type of person that would be quiet at first, but would have a lot to say once someone gets to know you. A dreamer.
Permalink Reply by L-Kat on January 26, 2012 at 1:05pm Karie - My first impression of your blog was the title, so I figured it was going to be an inspirational blog. The first post I saw was the CamWow post, so I knew you had a silly streak in you, too! Your blog is very clean and neat and organized, so I loved that. I could tell you've been through a lot, you're a strong person, you're dealing with grief and loss, but you seem very positive and motivated.
Hokay, bring it on, next person: http://deardiarylovederanged.blogspot.com/

From the polaroids hanging across the top I get the impression that you are family oriented and sweet. You get a lot of comments and write long posts, so I assume you have a very specific voice that stands out from all the rest. You split your posts into sections with bolded sentences, which makes me think you're organized or at least know how to get your point across in a clear, concise way.

Your blog is really clean and beautiful looking. I like how it's organized with tabs for different things like photos and tweets, but it isn't jumbled or junky. Your sidebar is very visual and clean and fabulous. I also like cute things more than I like meat :) Following!
Permalink Reply by Katie on January 31, 2012 at 12:19am Alexandra, I really like your layout and your writing style. Very clean, easy to read, not a lot of clutter but lots of useful things like social media links and link within. The content is a little random, and in some ways it makes me feel sort of old and very much like the not cool old lady I am beginning to suspect I'm becoming. I really liked some of your posts, though. Microblogging burnout, robots vs. humans in the grocery store (always robots--ALWAYS). You should do more vlogs, because you're very engaging. :)
