The Bloggers With The Most To Say

First, if you don't know what the Faroe Islands are: they're a TINY archipelago in between Iceland and Scotland, in the North Atlantic ocean. They have a total population of 48,000 spread out across 18 islands. The largest town has 15,000 residents.

They are fishers, sheep-farmers... and that's about it.

BUT... it's also the most beautiful place in the world (so says tourists and the National Geographic -- and, as a photographer, who am I to argue with them?!)

Anyway, I leave on Monday (13th July) and I get back on the 30th. I'll mainly be posting photos on my blog, but I'm sure some fun stories will crop up too, if I get a chance to write!

If you want some idea of what it looks like, check this entry here: http://blog.mrseb.co.uk/2009/07/the-geography-and-people-of-the-far...

After this weekend, all future entries on the main page (http://blog.mrseb.co.uk) will be from the Faroe Islands themselves!

I'm very excited about the trip and the photos I'll be able to take. Feel free to follow the fun that I have there :)

ewww Wind dried sheep?

I'm enjoying the photos though, keep it up.
Yeah... they take a whole sheep (really, the whole thing), slice it down the middle and then hang it to dry in the salty sea air for a few months.

Somewhere between 3 months and a full year.

And then slice small bits off and eat it... yummy!

Glad ya like the photos :)
Look, AMAZING sunset:

The sun finally came out (i.e. the clouds and fog cleared -- first time in 10 days!!)

Fairly half-assed related blog entry: http://blog.mrseb.co.uk/2009/07/busy-busy-busy-boats-boats-boats/
Christ, I thought I'd shared my lovely dawn photo already, obviously not:

And as a bonus, a picture of one of my hosts, hunched atop a rock, ready to pounce:

From two blog entries: http://blog.mrseb.co.uk/2009/07/by-popular-demand-the-two-hosts-and... & http://blog.mrseb.co.uk/2009/07/whale-hunter-blubber-chomper-puffin... (also has a nice sunset photo in it)
These pictures are gorgeous.
Thank you!

And now I must insist that you visit and see the insanely stunning vistas with your own eyes!
