Free Drink on D - Guess the hotel room rate!
First person to guess the hotel room rate we negotiated for the Ultimate Meetup June 25th weekend in Chicago (before tax) in this forum thread gets their first drink on me when they get here.

No, I haven't personally paid for a hotel room, but I know how much they cost (at least downtown). Especially since I'm a Chicago native.
I was mostly joking with that guess. But hey, I wouldn't know if you guys happened to get the hotel manager really interested in everything going on to the point where something like that happened. *shrug*

I'm lucky enough to have spent a night or two in Chicago, so...
my official guess is $162.47 per night, for one person.
I did some research, and for a hotel in downtown Chicago during summer, you'll probably pay anywhere from $200-$300 a night---and that's not including wifi and other such things. But, if this man is offering a free drink to guess the rate, he's probably thinking we got a deal of some sort. Which, $162.47 would certainly be, given the circumstances.
For those of you thinking this is high, let us not forget that this is a social sort of event, so if you wanted to BE social and have a roommate, you could split the cost in half.
If I'm right, I'll take a Guinness, please.

the majority of your guys are guessing waaaaaaaaaay too low. it's downtown chicago! i'm sure d got us a good rate and all, much cheaper than the normal going rate, so my guess is ....
$140! (and that's per room not per person people!)

Chicago is pretty expensive guys... hotel rooms are going to definitely over $100. My guess is $193.14. Fingers crossed I am right. I could use the free drink!

Oh and PS: thanks to the organizers for not choosing a hotel that costs mother-f'ing 60 dollars a night! I'm sorry but that would be horribly terrifying!!!
