The Bloggers With The Most To Say

If the title of this discussion didn't clue you in, I'm talking about The Hunger Games. And if you don't know what this is, please locate your nearest bookstore and begin reading! No one is ever too old for young adult book series... and this one is amazing!

So back to the question. I just finished Catching Fire tonight and am anxiously awaiting the 3rd book this August. But I'm conflicted with who I want Katniss to be in love with. Gale or Peeta?

Gale is someone she has known since childhood. Someone who understands the same pain with losing a father and trying to keep the family alive. Their chemistry is undoubtedly wonderful, but is it a great friendship or something more?

Peeta is a hopeless romantic. He has loved Katniss since he first laid eyes on her and has devoted his life to keeping her alive since the day he tossed her bread for her family. You can't help but swoon over how dedicated he is to bringing a smile to her face, but are these overpowering feelings keeping Katniss from truly understanding how she feels about him?

(**Yes, I'm getting WAY into this series. Please no comments saying "get a hobby" because guess what, reading is one of them and this series is spectacular)

The day I meet anyone like Gale or Peeta will be the day I fall in love and plan my happily ever after. But we all know it's a little more complicated for Katniss.

So who do you want her to be in love with? Gale or Peeta?

I can't wait to read the responses!

Peeeeeta!!

Gale is all.. manly and junk, but he is her friend. I think Katniss is over thinking things with Gale. Things come naturally with Peeta- even if she's scared to admit to herself that she loves him. Besides, who doesn't want someone like Peeta?! I'd give anything for a guy that madly in love with me.
Oh, I know!! To know someone loves you THAT MUCH. It would be the best feeling in the world! But then again, Gale could possibly feel the same way and we just don't know since he's on the outside looking in at the relationship between Katniss and Peeta blossoming in the Games and doesn't really get a voice in the series. I hope he is present more in the 3rd book to understand his feelings better! Or maybe that will makes things even more complicated. Ugh, I don't know!
Peeta. Freaking. Mellark. End of story.

Gale is great, but that is a friendship kind of love. Peeta is true freaking love. In my humble opinion!
I just wish Peeta would say that to her! Peeta is wonderful, Gale is wonderful... what's so special about Katniss again? hah, I'll volunteer in the Games if that means I can snuggle with Peeta!
Team Gale...Romantic men are always cheating assholes in the end :P
hah, I somewhat know what you mean! But then again, Peeta did broadcast his love for her to the entire world on TV, so cheating would be somewhat difficult :P
peeta, for sure. can't wait for the 3rd book!
I think Peeta all the way.
I mean, I love Gale and all, but Peeta is SOOO romantic. and amazing. and wholesome.
he is stable and now that he is in his situation... (dont want to give anything away) i think she will realize that she loves him
Peeta, Peeta, Peeta! I love me some Peeta Mellark! I NEED the third book in my life asap!
I'm a Peeta girl.  He's like a knight in shining armor.  He's loved her since she was five.  Gale has nothing on Peeta.

Going into Mockingjay, my opinion was this:

I wanted Katniss to choose Peeta, or neither of them. Gale is who she would have been with had her life gone on like normal. But her life didn't go on like normal. She entered the games, she lived through hell time and again, she's a different person now than she would have been otherwise. She can't go back to Gale. That chapter of her life is closed to her.

That all said, I was firmly on "Team Katniss" , meaning I feel like the author had written such a strong character that no matter which way it went, I was going to be on board with it.

I've only read the first book, I'm waiting for the second in the mail.  I could see rooting for "Team Katniss".
