The Bloggers With The Most To Say

If the title of this discussion didn't clue you in, I'm talking about The Hunger Games. And if you don't know what this is, please locate your nearest bookstore and begin reading! No one is ever too old for young adult book series... and this one is amazing!

So back to the question. I just finished Catching Fire tonight and am anxiously awaiting the 3rd book this August. But I'm conflicted with who I want Katniss to be in love with. Gale or Peeta?

Gale is someone she has known since childhood. Someone who understands the same pain with losing a father and trying to keep the family alive. Their chemistry is undoubtedly wonderful, but is it a great friendship or something more?

Peeta is a hopeless romantic. He has loved Katniss since he first laid eyes on her and has devoted his life to keeping her alive since the day he tossed her bread for her family. You can't help but swoon over how dedicated he is to bringing a smile to her face, but are these overpowering feelings keeping Katniss from truly understanding how she feels about him?

(**Yes, I'm getting WAY into this series. Please no comments saying "get a hobby" because guess what, reading is one of them and this series is spectacular)

The day I meet anyone like Gale or Peeta will be the day I fall in love and plan my happily ever after. But we all know it's a little more complicated for Katniss.

So who do you want her to be in love with? Gale or Peeta?

I can't wait to read the responses!

I agree with all of this.  My addition/slight adjustment is that I was Team Katniss to the point that I think the whole love triangle bullshit weakened the story more than it helped it.  What I love about the series is that Katniss, most of the time, has bigger shit on her mind than which boy she should choose to complete her.

I'm a big fan of Hunger Games!

I vote for Peeta. Even though physically, Gale sounded hotter, he showed in a couple of parts in the series a Machiavellean side, and I just couldn't agree with that. Peeta was willing to sacrifice even his own life for a greater cause. And I loved that the author gave a sense of normalcy and peace to Katniss' life first before announcing who she really ended up with. It sustained the suspension of disbelief.
