hey y'all!
when i first started blogging, a few of the bloggers i read had done a small swap. i was intrigued, and always thought it was such a cool idea!!!
i''ve always wanted to participate in something like this, but never really took the initiative...
so why not now?
im wondering if any of y'all are intetested in doing a "stuff swap"
i'm thinking there could possibily be a theme (or not) like whatever you mail to your swap partner is local to you?
(i.e. i'm from new england so maybe i could send something beachy, etc)
or whatever kind of theme....suggestions absolutely wanted.
i also thought it was a good idea to put a price limit so that everyone got presents that were just as nice.
so yeah...anyone interested????? once i figure out if there is any interest and read any suggestions, then i will absolutely organize it!!!!
I'd be up for this! And having a theme and a price limit would be cool; ex: the 'local theme' you mentioned. Another suggestion would be to do a theme involving 'found items'... so not buying anything but creating something out of found objects. Just a thought.
But yes, sign me up.
That sounds more like a secret Santa type thing.
What I think would be more interesting is people doing some kind of clean house and trading things they have instead of buying new things, it might be more fun too. maybe that is what you meant and I misunderstood.
cooper-
i did mean some kind of secret santa type thing. but i like your ideas. the tough thing is that it will be pretty hard to figure out who wants to trade what. i pretty much just want to matcha bunch of different peoples addresses so that it can be completely random.
linda-
i like your idea as well... i was thinking the same thing. that we could all do something creative... whatever our talents are. we could exchange poetry, photographs, drawings, collage, etc.
maybe if it got big enough we could do both. one group signs up just to go out and buy stuff to trade, the other group will create something then mail it.
I don't know i think its best to wait and get a bunch a feedback then deciding...
Here's a twist---- what if you did a post swap? Where you go on someone's website, get an idea for the type of content or style of writing and then guest post for someone. Then you could talk about it on your own website and probably get some new visitors. I'd be game for that
great suggestion chris..
but 20SB usually does a blog swap. i forget how regularly, but i've already done two in the past year. maybe just 2009.
so i'd keep an eye out for that. i'm sure in the next few months or so it will probably happen again.
What a great idea! I know one of the local blogs I read just did a swap and it was something Monogrammed. You could possibly do a fall thing or possibly your favorite football team swap. The local thing is good too! I think a spending limit should be listed too. Let me know what you decide!
i agree! i think it would be so fun. i'm not getting as huge as a response as i expected, but even a smaller one would be fun. i think what i am going to do, when we figure out an actual theme and cost limit, is make up a post, and hopefully anyone interested can post it to see if we get any new people.
just to get it going a little bit bigger you know.
